A "sawn-off" axle shaft won't necessarily run true. The rear wheel bearings are designed to accommodate a small amount of angular misalignment between the races . . . you'll probably notice some wobble.

Holden rear axle shafts, being semi-floating, need bearings at both ends in order to run true. You'd have to install a diff centre in the housing and use a complete axle shaft, and even then it'd be worthwhile measuring the run-out of the flange with a dial indicator.

I didnt have thoughts on this and run a test on the back of the hub and it was 0.5mm out but no rim with weight on it. Other i thought if I put the diff vertical and the tyre spins horizontal taking the weight off. Will play with it some more once the centers are cleaned up.

0.5mm out translates to even more at the rim edge. I hope it would be less with the axle fixed in the spider gear. I don't 0.5mm at the rim edge would be too noticeable at 100kmh?

True, I'll probably wait until I get a magnetic run out gauge and see how close I can get it, maybe wont be able to and maybe it's best left to put in a lathe

One of the fitter machinest blokes at work did me a favour and shaved the back of these centers off true using the cut off hub . got the hub running @ 0.1mm. Turned out spot on. Now to go see the sand blasting guys .

Had a delivery from Queensland from USA.
I'm hoping after this project install i can rid the can of start ya bastard !
The holley sniper efi 2300 and the sniper retro fit fuel pump.
Still waiting on braided efi line and fittings.
Then will pull it off the road and have a good old fashion go at it.
I read most issues are RFI so will come to that road later on if it arises.
I'll start with the blue motor dizzy running holdens timing. Once its running I have a Holden 6 Cyl Coil HEI cap Electronic dizzy which I'll modify by locking out the vac advance and adding a sniper coil driver which allows the holley sniper ecu to control full timing on the map.
The sniper has a few outputs including thermo fan and a/c which i will hook up to my vintage air ac system.
Will see how it goes.

Does any one know who sells the rubber hose from the back of the trimatic vacuum modulator to the little steel vac line. Or a replacement option. Mine seems to swell and leak causing shifting issues.

Should just be normal vacuum hose ?

Vacuum hose it is,

Any auto store, Autobarn, Repco or just a mechanics shop should have it.
