The only problem with paint like that is stone chips, youl need a car bra or do some serious defensive driving being so shiny and so black every chip will stand out like the peverbial they did on mine and that is red black will be worse. Ive painted my bonnet three times in eight years and the front of the guards as well but the rest is ok you will probably be the same if you plan to use it often as I use mine like almost daily, just something to think of .other than that you should be proud as, you now have a tru classic with bite when you need it hope to see you at the nationals
OLD TIN RULES
So one day I went up to whiteman park, the EK was parked in the sun... (bad)
after a few hours in the sun, this is a description of the situation when i went to drive home....
I opened the car door,
sat in the seat,
put the key in the ignition,
turned the key,
pressed the accelorator pedal,
backed off the accelerator pedal,
put it in gear,
put my hands on the steeri "AHHHHHH MY @#)(*@()$ HANDS!!!!!!"
moral of the story - get a steering wheel that isnt black...
ps: if you do paint it black, dont pour water on it to cool it down cos the water just spills all over yourself insted.
OH YEA
looks awesome

Nah, my brother inlaws 53 Chev is all black and he doesn't have much in the way of chips and his gets used a bit. I'm actually surprised at the little amount of stone chips I have on mine and its used daily. Car Bra's are not a good look IMHO.bigalhusband wrote:The only problem with paint like that is stone chips, youl need a car bra or do some serious defensive driving being so shiny and so black every chip will stand out like the peverbial they did on mine and that is red black will be worse. My old FC was the same very few if any stonechips in the 3 years I use it daily. It really comes down to where you drive.

i'd have to agree with DR, car bra's are not a good look
every car i see with one never takes them off so whats the point of the really nice paint job? i bought a car that had one and took it off as soon as i got it home, wasn't any stonechips but it really bad rub marks from dust ect getting under the bra (looked even worse than chips)
wear your chips as badges of honour that the car is actually used.
Its too awesome to hide!!!!
