Talk about pissed off  , today my trusty compressor spat the dummy. Now it's just working when it feels like it (I envy it) Hopefully I've t'd up a loaner for over the easter period which should hopefully see the end of the painting anyway.

Ben, I got my rubbers from Perth. The back rubbers were like a dogs breakfast where they go over and around the door hinges, but they have definately got the rubber profile worked out right.

I'm definately going to have my ass hanging out over the next 2 weeks trying to get this thing close to being finished.

Cheers all and thanks for the kind words and inspiration.

Yeh, sorry Sammy still haven't changed the tyres over yet.

Keep going Malcolm,
I have every confidence in your fulfilling your tasks over Easter.

We know you will re-fit those tyres the wrong way again just after arriving Yamba - for further comment.............

It always happens when ya just nearing the finished item! Had 2 compressors spit the dummy on me Malcom, & both times it was just at the end of a spay job!!!
I'd lend you mine if we lived closer, just to see the finished job of your wonderful 57chev inspired EK!
I can't wait for the next installment. 8)

Well I ended up getting a loan of a compressor off a mate but haven't needed to use it yet. I ended up giving mine a bit of a gentle tap  and presto it worked.

Got the 2 front doors painted today and the old compressor didn't miss a beat. I think it may have felt threatened by the big loaner sittin close by waiting for it to fail.

Anyway, doors came out OK, will buff a couple of bits of shit out of them in the morning and then just for something different I'll do some rubbing on the front guards, getting them ready for colour.

Last 2 panels to go :D

With things getting closer, I'm needing a bit of Rosco's patients.

Cheers

Matty,

Yes I got them from Rare Parts in WA. The front door rubbers fit great, its only the rears that are a bit dicky
around the hinge areas. Other wise OK, at least the doors shut.

OK, today I buffed up the two front doors that were painted yesterday, most likely rust proof them
tomorrow and fit them on on Wednesday. Reputtied one of the front guards and did a shit load of
buffing of stainless strips. Tomorrow will be another day of rubbing down guards.
I may have to make another list of things to do and what order to do them.

Not really much to look at yet.

Hi Malcolm,
you've had a much better day with the gun than I - need to take a bit of my own advice, I believe - all that prep and stuffed up the finish - sure glad it wasn't an external - still it's now well and truly "proofed", just not the surface finish I wanted after all the prep...................

Tomorrow is another day, we learn by our mistakes - but just a bit disappointing.................

I don't think I've ever been guilty of abusing my work if it goes belly up - I have learned to "walk away" and come back after a coffee............. it always seems to be "not so bad" when I step back into the minefield.

You're home and hosed with your build, Malcolm - pick it off as you want to do it now, not because you feel your under the "hammer" - as always, looking great - ease back on the throttle now and "cruise".......
