Being a bit of a classist, I’ve never quite dug painted bumpers. But I’m really warming to this colour and the silver bumpers as the car comes together. Your vision is coming together well Neil, nice one

Very hot in Perth over the weekend, had the evap air conditioner going in the workshop from very early in the morning.
Sunday morning got into the shop and totally finished up under the guards, ran the horn wire under the drivers side and the fan wire under the passenger side, spliced in the side blinkers and then taped all the wires together and put them all in corrugated tubing.
Tested the blinker circuit on both sides to make sure I got it right

they are not connected to the flasher can yet.

So now everything is in the cabin; I need to stop procrastinating and get it done

How did you run the wires knackers ? P clips on the guard bolts or did you weld lugs or something to tie the cables to ?

Hey Blackman I welded 4 P clips to the inner guard you can just see them in the photo put a small hole big enough to fit 5 or 6 wires through into the cabin behind the kick panel with a grommet and will seal with silicone after I'm finished, used 13 or 14mm corrugated tubing I think it was.

I've wanted to drop the front of the Ute down a bit more, looked at Castlemaine Rod Shop drop spindles a month or so ago and the price was $800 went on a couple of weeks ago and the price was $500 and beside the price was quantity 1 so of course I assumed it was $1000 for the pair.
Decided to bite the bullet last Monday (4th) and rang to order them when I asked the guy to confirm that it was $1000 he said no mate $500 & 55 delivery so was very happy and jumped on them they were sent by TNT and arrived yesterday, came with new grease caps castellated nuts and split pins and caliper bolts.

Good work mate. The dropped spindles make sense. Pity it’s not so simple to dump the rear without chassis work. You’re doing HQ brakes if I recall or are they Commodore. I guess the stubs would work with other combos. The logical choice seems to be chose your rear axle and base the front hubs on the same stud pattern.
Keep ticking those boxes Neil.
