Thanks Gary, yeah I have a ebay special tube bender and the straight bits I just tap with a rubber mallet on a flat piece of wood and it straightens easy.

A bit more fuel line tonight, bugger of a job very time consuming !

Silver pipe is gravity fed from the tank to the pump and the blue is pressure then return.

Got my extended ball joints today so my front end can finally be finished off, the ball joint lifts the top wishbone up by half an inch and makes the car go into camber when cornering, it also clears the wishbone from the brake callipers so I don't have to grind them for clearance. I will do a full update on the front when I finish it over the weekend
By the way these are made for the 1st gen Camaro and surprise surprise are the same as the holdens !!!

ball joints sound interesting , are the Torana ones the same as HR ?? i.e. - will these ball joints go onto a HR upper wishbone ??

Yes, Holden were all the same HR to HZ I believe, including the Torana's

These are made extended to suit the Camaro, but they fit the Holdens.

Hi Greg can you tell me how much room i need between the rails to fit. F#!d tank? My car has has a rear chassis welded into it so before i go in search of a tank i want to see if one will fit.

I got them as a kit from Mcdonald bros in Victoria. Of course they have been massaged a bit because I have inverted eyes in the springs. I cut down the bars and modified the spring hangers for them to fit.

So underneath is pretty much finished bar a couple of clips etc.
There was a couple of days in the fuel and brake lines !!!!!

I started the front end final fit and am happy with the final positioning of the suspension arms, my calipers clear the wishbones and under full compression the top arms sit about 20mm from the inner guards. You can see how the top arm is flat so when you corner the arc pulls the top of the stub axle in and so gives more camber, probably wont notice as I'm not going to race it as such !!!!!
Have to get some washere and bolts tomorrow so I can continue.

The tank measures 960mm rear x 800mm and tapers down to 880mm front in the body area, (the part that fits through the hole)
The flange where the bolt holes are is approx 25mm on top of this measurement'

Forgot to say I rotated it from those old photos.

greg did you cut up your first torana crossmember to do the second one? and if not would it be suitable for somebody not as fussy about front end geometry? do you want to sell it?

I started to cut it for the brackets but then decided to make new ones.

I will take a pic and post it this arvo.

It really should be cut and redone its just I had found another one quick so went down that path.
