I usually post photos from my work computer but have just figured out how to get photos from my phone to the iPad and now it looks like I can post the yahoo.
Soooo I wanted to try to finish off the tray including the wiring before going up front, I had originally planned to upholster the side boards of the tray but after using the lime wash on the floor decided to do the same, I can always change my mind later. Run the rear lighting and using my battery charger powered them all up and checked it all worked. Finished modifying the engine harness that I have fully wrapped and the where it runs under the passenger side exhaust I have wrapped it in exhaust heat wrap, installed it onto the engine, fitted the radiator and the rest of the water piping that I had put off until the harness was in. Then I was doing a spa project for the wife and I and had an argument with my angle grinder 5 stitches just before Xmas eve. Anyway played around inside the cab where most of my work is left to do, I had a nice set of dash trim so adapted it for where I had to fill the 2 previous gauge holes and fitted up an original radio blank. That should be enough of an update for now

Your rear end looks good Neil. Having the side panels match the floor seems to work.
I hope your gash heals ok and that you’ve learnt a lesson - stick to working on cars and leave house stuff to someone else . I wish!

Hi Neil its not fun when the tools turn on you. What exhaust system are you using as i have fitted a b&m shifter to my early holden which has a vr v6 and standard exhaust system the mounting brackets for the bm cable that bolts to the auto are fouling on the exhaust system the only thing i can think of is a custom exhaust which i don't want to do do you know of anybody that had this problem and how they fixed it. Thanks Gary.

You making good progress there. The side panels in the tub tie in nicely with the floor Hope the injury doesn't slow you up too much to get the spa finished, gotta keep the War Office happy!

Hi Garry I have used V6 Conversion headers/extractors on both my VP V6 FC Sedan and EK Ute so unfortunately can't help you with the clearance issue, the Sedan doesn't have a B&M shifter so when the custom exhaust was done I didn't have to think about it but this time I had better tell the exhaust guy to make sure it clears seeing you have alerted me to it.

Stephen finished the frame for the spa yesterday, boss is happy, it was a below ground one that I have made into above ground. Stitches should be out this Friday hopefully.

Hey Greg yes fiddly bits take ages but my list is getting shorter or at least I keep telling myself that

Filled the radiator with water to check for leaks and all seems good, fitted and connected the alternator and serpentine belt.

Still playing with wiring, I powered up the wiper motor yesterday, sort of through the VT column switch, and with cable tie wiper arms it looks like they are stroking really well, also connected power through the column ignition switch into the engine harness including the computer and the fuel pump, pulled the spark plugs and have been able to turn the engine over trying to get oil pressure, no success as yet.
I think I have the basics of connecting the rest of the wiring just have to stop procrastinating and do it

Couldn't help myself yesterday, put temporary power to the oil pressure gauge and cranked the engine it was telling me we had 50psi so I threw the plugs in, 20 litres of fuel in the tank fired it up, no exhaust just the headers, took a bit to get going.

I haven't sorted the accelerator yet so was just pulling the cable, engine sounds fantastic for a fairly warm little V6. I think I had a sexual moment

Does anybody do ceramic coating in WA, may have to pull the headers and have them done, should have done it in the first place.

Neutral safety switch worked and reverse lights worked when shifter put in reverse.

Exciting stuff Neil. I’ll give my brother a buzz later today as he had his Chev headers ceramic coated and is happy with them. You going to the meeting tonight?
