I de- nibbed the black on the underside and applied Raptor, which went on nicely. And also applied some colour to the inside of the subframe and Fire wall. I'm going with " Kia Tomato Red " with a Mercedeces off white for the roof. I thought long and hard about keeping with the original Cathay grey, but I have never owned a car with a colour I liked and once saw a red EK that blew my lights out as stunning, so red it is.

Nice work Daz, red will go faster than the grey
That hoist holding the sub frame looks like a lifter used in aged care? They are usually good for 200 - 220 kg.

I got that hoist from a Garage sale at a rest home. Very handy as it's not as cumbersome as an engine crane. My mate has lifted his "94 Road king with it. It also came with the sling that you put the person in for lifting.(But the missus isn't keen to try it out.)

Another update. I painted the firewall but was unsure where the subframe skirt wrapped around the firewall so will brush on some black later

Flipped her over and installed the subframe. This one came off another car and although I check fitted it before painting, it was still not easy. Made sure to throw plenty of old sheets and rags at bit to protect the paint.

Lifted the fully re-coe'd front end in then lowered her off the rotisserie, put some wheels on her and she's back on the ground. First time in nearly 34 years. Thought I'd celebrate with a beer or two.

Exactly. Got stuck into it as a young fella then the biggest money depleting agent comes along ( woman). Bought a house, then three kids and mortgage comes first. I always done something to the EK ,but lots of small jobs which I wrapped up in bags / boxes. Now its a case of pulling all the bags out of storage and bolting on. Then being stuck at home for six weeks with a covid lockdown ,I got stuck into the body and broke the camels back. Thank you Covid.

I will be doing the Primer/filler. My workmate over the road is a car painter with his own booth and said he wants to do the painting. Just bought another 4 litres of De Beer top coat and hardner yesterday ant the princely sum of $800.00.
Also got some chroming back during the week which was $700.00 worth.
