ok well im having trouble with rim sizes and the whole lowering thing.

i want black original rims, chrome bullet nuts and center cap with wide whitewalls (will do flappers cos i got no $$$)

people are telling me to go 14's or 15's so when i lower the shit out of it i wont break stuff. But you gotta make sacrifices right?

would like it as low as andrews in this pic, lower even
Image

would like this done soon as it it is way to high, the rims are ugly and someone wants to buy them off me.

advice would be greatly appreciated
thanks
jay

J , to get it that low you will need to go drop spindles and lowering blocks at the least, recurved rear springs would be better.
From memory that car still has a king pin front end ? If so , you cant get spindles to suit. Best you could do for now would be lowered springs and lowering blocks.

yes alot of money to get that low, as for rims won't matter what size you use, got no idea why people would think 13" wheels would cause damage and 14" or 15" won't :?

Put some blocks in the back, the front of yours looks to be lowered already!

Many places to get blocks try eBay, Johns R & C or even Autobarn might be able to get them too. Failing all that a suspension place would be another....

I was going to ask about lowering blocks, so while we're on the subject...
Are they legal?
How do they affect the handling for normal day to day civilised driving?
Any other pros or cons?
It sounds like an easier option than getting springs re-set & I've seen kits on ebay for under $100

Dave

:o I am very proud to think that someone likes my car enough to use it as an example in their thread :D The only photoshopping in that picture was some rust repairs... the car does sit that low IRL!
My car has a HR disc front end with 2" drop spindles and lowered front springs of an unknown height, which I would guess are at least 2" shorter than factory. The rear runs saggy springs, a boot full of dead bodies and 2" blocks. When I first lowered the car, I did not yet have my P plates and my Mum was driving it and got it stuck on a kerb
Oh, and my rims are 13". My 15's dont fit on the front atm, but soon will be resolved

i think only god knows if blocks are legal or not :? some say they are some say they're not  but useally it's the people selling them that say they're legal and the people regoing yor car that say they're not
as for ride quality my cars are usually that low it doesn't matter what's done, at a guess i'de say reset springs would be a better ride, but compareing cost blocks would do the job

Good Stuff J, looking at your car the front looks to have been dropped already. Try getting some blocks for the back. Will improve the look heaps as it has alot of rake.
