This weekends efforts...
Driver's floor in....
Fixed some rust and found some rust........
Added these bars and put her on her side........
Got rid of the crud to bare metal......
Half shiney and new......
I'll coat the whole floor in 'Kill Rust' and then body deadener.
I think this should work against the water getting under the deadener

It's been a couple o' weeks since my last efforts, so here's today's....
I ran out of gas for the mig so I started on the diff.
Dirty cruddy diff..........
Cruddy brake backing plate and leaf spring plate......
Bare metal........
Good as new black.......
What can I paint the leaf springs with?
Will they stay painted with all the movement they have?
Can they be painted with enamel or do I need to use something else?

It's been a while! (2 months) I've finally got back to work on the EK, work and all that stuff has held me back a bit, but Im full steam ahead again.
Picked up a "new" grey the other day, stripped it down and cleaned it up a bit.
This fuel pump came on the original motor
This one came with the "new" motor, but not attached
Is the second one off a grey? It looks to have an extra section added in the middle, the tongue is bigger and it won't go into the motor. Is there a spacer to make this one fit? I read in the manual that there are two types of pump. Is this what I'm looking at?
Bit of a clean up and, hey presto, just a paint job and I'm off!

Bottom fuel pump looks to be one for vacuum operated wipers ( ie:- FX,FJ,FE,FC,FB etc ) and top one for electric wipers ( eg:- EK onwards including red motors as well ....... and blue motors also....I think??

).
I think FX,FJ ones are a little different to that bottom one but will fit all later vacuum wiper setups from memory.I think that one pictured in bottom pic is FE,FC,FB.

This would make sense FB Mad. The motor I got came out of an FB ute.
I didn't realise they had a different wiper set-up.

And I also didn't know that vacuum wipers ran off the fuel pump
You learn something new every day. Thank you

Mostly elbow grease Tony

I think I need another jar though
I'm using a combo of wire wheel on a grinder and a 'flapper' wheel (sandpaper strips stuck together for the grinder).
Nearly got rid of all 47 years worth of dirt

. I think i'm down to about the 42nd year

Another weekend is here when I think "yes" I'll get out to the garage and get plenty done, then the boss says "Will you be right to work Saturday?"
Hopefully I'll get out there tomorrow night, and Sunday.
I'll post pics if I get any decent progress.
