We don’t have the log book system in qld with all its benefits and regular inspections but we get to keep our tyres!
Noticed one of my indicators on the dash is on MDMA when turned on. Is there anything more than 3 screws and 60 years of grit holding this lense on? Doesn’t make sense for it to be held in by the chrome. Am I just being too gentle? Don’t want to crack the lense. It will jeopardise my chances at grand champion…

the manual isn’t really helping me with this one.
Should have looked at the manual before attempting to unscrew everything to get to a headlight bulb though. Might have to re aim one side after I get a new bulb… It’s blown one of the filaments.

NASCO approved indicator removal technique -
1) undo 3 x screws
2) have a swig of beer
3) put beer down
4) apply rubber mallet to indicator lens in a sharp motion while holding hand opposing hand under said indicator
5) put indicator lens on floor and pick beer back up
hope this helps

Got the indicator lense off. I was hitting it uncomfortably hard with the rubber mallet. Resorted to lots of wiggle and pull. Turned the indicator on while fiddling with the bulb. Resulting in expulsion of magic smoke. All ok though, I contained it in the bulb…. off to Repco for indicator and head light bulbs. Indicators in stock but ordered in the headlight. Came in same day which was good. Grabbed a couple of bottles of oil while I was there. On special for $29 if you’re in need.

Should have cleaned it prior to now. I’ll have to make a start tomorrow night after the kids go to bed. Not looking forward to dipping my hands in a bucket of water. I’m out of the wind in the shed but it’s still cold enough.

Had the afternoon off the finish things off and I still changed the oil with the help of the moonlight… the bottle of oil had a nice pouring spout. Didn’t need to use that to spill oil all down the side on the engine….
I was going to polish some chrome but unfortunately it’ll be going as is. Might pissing into the wind now but I’m heating up the hubcaps in the hope they go on easier… Wife’s new hairdryer

managed to dent an FX one one day on a cold morning when it wouldn’t go on.

Just need nub caps on and throw together some spanners and tools and that’ll do! Look forward to meeting those attending tomorrow!
