Hi John,
Re-doing the math using your weights:
Centura (using the heaviest weight you gave 1255kg): 0.294 x 1255 = 368.97 cu.in.
Charger 1420kg (this seems a little heavy to me): 0.294 x 1420 = 417.48 cu.in.
Both less that the 440 cu.in. engines fitted to these cars.

the thing is did they tell the engineers the real size of there engines? and how long ago were they done there was a time not so long ago where you could put a 572 big block in a mini if you wanted

They were both done in the last 5 years, the charger about 5 the centura about 2 1/2years.
Both were done as 440's and were listed as such on rego and engineering papers, both done in NSW, the charger was done in the western subs of sydney and the centura done up the coast.
All I am trying to say is that it seems that it is worth finding the right engineer.

i went to a show 2 weeks ago down the coast and was talking to a mate that has a beutifull '70 chevelle always top 60 at summernats underneath is as good as top, beside it was an '80's model corvette boring as bat shit nothing at all special about it yet in the time i was talking to him 5 people asked if we owned it and only 1 asked about the chevelle

, one of my old bosses used to own a '70 corvette he spent squillions

on it what a shit box to ride in and drive

Yeah mate it's a "Smoothisum" 99%ers!
Like "Poverty Pack" for Standards, "Boat Anchors" for HK-T-G's, Belly Flops for Camaro's and Corvettes (named after Bob Jane putting the Channel Nine Camaro on it's roof at Bathurst). amongts many others - like being "basiled" which = being Brushed (Basil Brush).

I think the Car Show on Nine had something on it last year, it still has the scratches in the top of the drivers side glass
Aaaahh now those days were racing! At least they weren't all the same bar some outer panels.....

Just a few more pics showing better clearance for the sbc and pulleys
Heres the LX torana column Rat not much comes thru but its a fab shroud around the end but aint that big.
Note the rear clearance to the original wall .......... very close !!
Pic of the extractors coming thru to the front guards, was measuring the wheel clearances for the ordering of new wheels.

Hey mephious just wondering are those extractors on the sedan a standard hadfield set?Or are they bigger,custom made?

Standard Hadfield, part of me is hoping they are no good so I can redo them and throw them on the panelvan.
Not too keen on how they come into the front guard area, but if it aint broken I wont fix it. Part of me knows I was stupid to get the van before this was completed but it was just too good to pass up.

Thats what i had.Now my engines under going a few mods there not going to be big enough.You may have the same problem.

Whats the best way of knowing their too small mate ?
I cant remember if they were on the block when it was dynoed ... will need to find the old phone that I filmed the dyno runs on ( god knows where the missus has hidden that !! )
