Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
Ive been putting some huge hours into my car.
Its all buffed and everything for it is cleaned, painted and spread everywhere. Im taking all next week off.
I cant see it being finished. There is just too much to do.
Anyway ill give it a crack. Worst scenario is I get it to the EH 50th aniversary show at the end of august.
The organisers of the ahd sorted out my entry. Im entrant 801.
I will keep that number for posterity.
The van is really looking great.

Good luck with it mate, if I was a sydneysider still I would be around there giving you a hand - if I could keep myself away from all your other toys

I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
Im feeling a bit like a zombie atm. 8am starts 1, 2am finishes.
The rebuilt front end is in with the brakes.
The dash is finished.
The engine is all together with the gearbox and painted.
I painted the whole engine holden red as per factory.
That means everything red. I detailed up the twin carb manifold a bit.
I repaired the home made aircleaner it cam with.
The grill is assembled using all nos top and bottom grill bars.
That deceased mechanics shop estate I bought a couple of years ago has been a godsend.
It has supplied me with almost 90% of the parts for this resto.
My neighbour is amazed what weird stuff I am finding for it such as an nos front wiring loom.
Today the diff is coming out to be painted.
The new painted flipped spring pack is already painted up.
While the diff is out ill fit the second hand exhaust system I have pulled out of a parts car. I dont have time to take it to the exhaust place. A new two inch system can go in next week.
The engine should be in today.
The trimmer is coming tomorrow to put the roof lining in.
Its really coming together.

Good to hear mate, Deadlines can be both a godsend and a pain in the rrrrs , I am a fan of them - you gotta have a goal .
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

Re: Dave Bootleger's SCC EH Van
So im sitting here at the pool for my daughters swimming lesson. All im thinking about is getting back to the shed.
The diff has been out cleaned sanded, painted and put back in as has my recycled exhaust system.
All the engine bolt on accessories have been painted and will be put on tonight. Whilst looking for something else in the shed I found some nos eh hubcaps.
I may run the stock rims with crossplys.
Im still hunting a factory nasco rh mirror. I really thought one would turn up by now.
I guess the swap is on saturday.
