Another productive day...
Engine and gearbox out again...
Finished welding in the mounting plate for the new booster and pedal box...
And managed to give the engine bay a few coats of satin black. It's far from perfect but it looks infinitely better than before.
I've also painted the radiator support, engine mounts and gearbox cross member. The dump pipe is getting HPC coated next week.
I think I've turned the corner now as it's mostly putting everything back together.... well until the AC unit comes anyway... LOL.

It's nice to see stuff going back in!
The completed tunnel from underneath
The gearbox cross member
Braided lines. I still have the mount the t-piece. The diff will come out again once I'm happy I have the correct the angle. I need to make some brackets for the handbrake cables, put the Truetrac in and weld the mounts properly. I'll give it a coat of paint after that.
The engine is back in. I painted the radiator black to keep it looking stockish. I'm really chuffed with how it is starting to look.
It's a lot different to how it began...

I bought mine from
http://www.airide.com.au. I just had a look at the web site and it doesn't look like they stock them anymore.

It's been a difficult two weeks, as my mate who owns the business where I have been working on the Smurf passed away unexpectedly and suddenly. Unfortunately he didn't have a will, and he was the sole director and share holder of his company, so the doors had to close. I went in and screwed as much back on as possible ...
Things got slightly worse when the Camaro got jammed in reverse. It's something inside the box as I jacked it up and no amount of persuasion with the linkage would budge it. I ended up getting a tow home.
On the trailer...
And then settled into his new home thanks to a kind offer from a friend.
The EK is in good company because there are three rods hiding in the back. I'm feeling a lot better about the EK now after seeing it on all four wheels again.
Another mate helped me out with a new daily driver for a while. It's pretty cool for a Volvo!
I spent last Saturday doing some stuff on the EK at it's new home. The exhaust is all but finished. It just needs the hanger welded on and the tailpipe.
We made a cut out in the gearbox crossmember to give a bit more clearance for the exhaust.
The back behind the cut out was reinforced.
We also mounted the shifter on the tunnel. I'm using the standard shifter, so I think I'll need to put a boot over it all to hide it as it looks too modern for the inside of the EK.
And while doing all of that, I ended up buying a street rod. What a crazy fortnight.

It's still ticking along slowly. Lots of little fiddly jobs that seem to take forever. Since the last update, I've mounted the radiator overflow, plumbed the vacuum line for the booster, and the heater hoses, and I've mounted a Vintage Air AC evaporator under the dash much like the Tigers V6 conversion thread.
I think I've got one or two more full days on it and then I can take it to another mate to get the wiring sorted. It should be running after that. It's a bit harder to coordinate working on it now, as I can't just turn up and work on it like I used to.

I had the day off work today so I managed to get stuck in and finish off a few jobs.
I couldn't find a bend that would work for the inlet so my mate Brent knocked up a lobster for me!
It should look pretty good when it's polished.
That's everything in the engine bay done .... well except for the radiator cap and few hose clamps. It's full to the brim.
I'm really happy to see it on its wheels again.
Next job is to tow it over to another friend's place to sort out the wiring.
