Great work guys, nothing quite like fresh primer. Always a hint of what's to come.

Thanks Devilrod. The best part was seeing all those dents disappear thanks to Dave and his trusty metal slapper

I cant believe the trouble some people go to bodge things up. The bog work in the door header was incredible.they even made the lip that holds the rubber out of bog. It took five hours to make the folded sections and weld it in. I bet it took longer the shonky way. It will be a better job now the screens are out.

The good thing is there was fark all rust when the screens came out. That was my biggest fear.
I hope the screens don't leak when they put them back in, Tim. Seeing as I'm sure they didn't leak before

On another note, Dave in his spare time is restoriing a Ducati 900 SS Darmah.
Here's the bodywork and paint he did on the tins. Amazing stuff

We're not touching the mechanicals or interior, so safe to say it's a tidy up, though a bit more involved than originally thought
it's a repair rust and respray

done propperly

Its nice to see all the rust removed from some sills rather than just the bare minimum that seems to be the current trend.
Nice work.

I could tell by the pinholing that the sill was buggered. The one thing i know is these rust replacement panels need a heap of work to make fit. The guard bottoms were a joke. The joggle where the outer sill spot welds to the inner was non existent. I had to put the joggle in by hand on my anvil. It was a tedious job. Once that was sorted out it was pretty straight forward.
I hate to be a new guy to panel work trying to fit these parts.

Yeah, the way the guard bottom repair panels are cut, you barely use half of it, then have to make up new pieces that the repair panel doesn't cover
The sill finished
