Just got off the phone from Rustys Dungers. I think he'll need more phone credit, I hope he's on a good plan cause I talked his ear off! Pete and Scotty can vouch for this once I get on a roll, there seems to be no way to stop me talking about cars and stuff! Russell is a great mate and it's great to have found him again after so many years. My euphoria from FB ownership is still active, but I do really have to do some work on this car. It still seems to take in a lot of water when it rains and the muffler is split along the seam, and the rear
tyres seem to go down every week, and the gearbox still sings a song. I hinted to Pete that I would post some relevant old photos, but as you can see, still nothing. Sorry Pete so far!Tony.

Tim, Tank Fairlane Turrets rust away. I think they fitted the headlining with steam or something! Our Ranch Wagon has had the rear floors done, maybe because when it was a hearse, they probably used to hose it out to get rid of anything unsavoury (Rusted rear seat frame?) Maybe just from all the tears! Stuart, I still love CHL 061 a LOT and Tim told me the story of your lilac EK wagon. It's good when you can restore something from your own family with real history and old pics. etc. Scotty, I've wrecked Fi's camera since I took it to work (Nothing good has ever survived this!) The screen that you look at looks like it's full of paint or something. Rusty said his lowered his Wimmera Green EJ Premier and put chromies on it! Sounds like a cross between Barbara Eden and Blondie in the best possible way! Tim, I'm coming around to visit with a bag of photos (Yeah Yeah!) Please help! Tony.

Tony...by the sounds of it you are starting to tackle the problem of new technology with both hands!! (I'm impressed! ).
Your posts are getting better (as in more than one responce per millenia   ) and even the promise of more up to date photos make us wait with bated breath. :D
So the fact that you need Timbo or Pete to send the photos is no biggy, we just all want to see more! 8)

Fi said last night, "I would have just said it's got no roof because it's a pedal car!", but as you know, I like to go on and on and on! In the picture, Brian is actually sittin in a rare Cyclops "Rustomatic", of which very few were ever made, thus making them quite collectable. Thanks for your kind words Scotty and your interest Tim. Have a good day guys Tony.

The years have been unkind to Brian that vehicle is a "Slideaway Skidmaster" produced in the early 60's and often confused with the more technically superior yet rust laden "Cyclops" model.

Peter never speaks of it, but he was the co author of "Modern Guide To Pedal Cars, Tricycles, Perambulators and other Childrens Conveyances" with Lord Cyclops I Think, so what he says must be correct! I have found that noisy muffler I was looking for, and it should go well with my stainless(Iv'e only just discovered) Pea Shooter tailpipe to make that snarly grey sound. I also like listening to noisy Zephyrs! (Is that so wierd?) I've just talked to Wayne about Barracudas (Valiant not fish!) and other stuff in the good old Blue Mtns. Good Stuff.

You forgot his other publications like "Advanced head polishing for the inexperienced", "Seven correct ways to start a fight" & his best seller "An anthology to 1960's Hanna Barberra cartoon characters & other bits of unknown yet obscure champagne comedy"... :wtf:

Nope..you're both wrong on this subject I'm afraid..
The pedal-car in question is an even rarer "Fomoco Flatsider" built in the early 60's buy F O R D Australia spare parts division for the future infant F O R D owners.
Originally built for the General Manager of F O R D Australia's son (Rupert Ironmonger III), by Herbert Flubrotter head of the Victorian FOMOCO steelworks division (and noted designer for the XL Falcon 'Saftey Dashboard') the "Flatsider" became the envy of most well-to-do young tackers of the time so in 1962 a small run of these rare gems hit the F O R D dealers Australia wide. Only 74 of the "Fomoco Flatsiders" were ever sold to the public due to their high price & unfortunate court battle over some of the horrific injuries that was said to happen to the young 'pilots' of these machines.
It looks like Brian is the only one in the world to own such a rare bit of Aussie history now...

Sorry Tim, I wasn't able to come over yesterday as I had to work and was busy pulling off my back wheels and adjusting those "Choo Choo Train" things. Now my handbrake holds on hills backwards! I did drop over today on a test drive after cutting off my old broken muffler and welding on the sporty one I found under the house. It isn't your old one Scotty, it's another one. Anyway, it's a bit strangled by the 1 1/2 tailpipe and it sounds pretty tame, so I'll have to wait till I get money and buy a whole system. I bought this car with money I really don't have so at the moment it will be an exercise in Penny Pinching and downright Scroogieness! Tim, you can always count on Fi for a straight answer! Also, my favorite car is my Tank Fairlane, but, that doesn't mean I'm not having a DAMN GOOD TIME scooting around in my new pink FB!
Tony.
