Its a L-O-N-G way

Don't know what you guys are worried about. My other car, the little green A model roadster, has NO windup side windows, no Heater, 60+ year old brake, tyre (Firestone cross plys) and engine technology, an even older gearbox, usless wiper, leaks like a seive in rain and its been to Canberra and back, Bright numerous times and done an 8 month stint as my daily driver! On the open road I'm lucky to get 2 hours of driving before refueling due to a very small tank and flathead v8. Not once have I thought of trailering it anywhere.
Half the fun of going on a road trip is getting there. But it sounds like you might be planning something which I'm sure once back you will be planning to do again. I've lost count of the amount of road trips I 've done with mates to show's. Best part of owning an old car......

Probably not

As mush as we'd like too we can only really do a road trip once a year at the moment and Bright Rod Run is our chosen get away (haven't missed one in 10 years). Bit hard with 2 kids (one wage!)and 2 dogs to put in kennels, kinda kills the bank account. We even toyed with the idea of babysitters for the whole weekend but looks like a no go. But you never know......

Sad to see you cant make it Devilrod,
I would have liked to closely inspected that cool lace job.
As for us in S.A., We have 3 definite starters making the trip.
A van, a wagon & a sedan. Looking forward to it.

This is another reason why its so annoying I cant get to the Yamba Nationals
We would love to hold the Nats in SA, and the crux of the reply earlier in this thread, as to why
they won't be held here in the near future is because, not enough of us turn up to them. Far enough.
So Hemi, Stinga & I turned up at Forbes with the intention of making it a regular trip and have it gain some momentum with other Adalaide FB/EK owners.
And now we are not turning up again due to circumstances beyond our control
Its Victoria's turn next year.......I'm already trying to rally the troops
One day you'll have to drop off the edge of your own known world and
visit SA to attend the Nationals
Cheers
Jeff

I am not big headed but I do now wear 2 hats and Lesley and I will be in Yamba to represent both Victoria and South Australia fb/ek clubs.
Although we only live 15k's from the victorian border we will be coming from south australia.
Jeff and Ray, we sympathise with you, and the disappointment you must be feeling about missing these Nationals. We were in the same predicament for the Tenterfied nats, where we had just started new jobs and was moving house all at the same time.
Look forward to the s.a. club holding a nationals in the near future. The more states the better!
cheers
Roger

When are you crow eaters

gunna pull your fingers out and plan a S.A. Nationals? I know it's getting late, but it would be a good idea to put a submission together for presentation at Yamba. So how about it guys ?
Regards Bill

thanks roger & leslie, it means a lot
the old saying comes to mind "work sucks but we need the bucks"
if i win the x lotto in the next few weeks, we'll see you there
maybe for next year, we should plan a road trip from adelaide > mt gambier, then along the great ocean road etc & up to .......

i also like the idea of taking 2 weeks off for the nationals, like you do
have a great time
cheers ray
