Cheers Rocket. Headers will hug the block and go out beside the box. Wont be cutting any holes in the guards for them... Not sure if you have seen the first set we made?
Thanks man, hows the purple beast going?

Hi Kidd,
How much suspension travel will this have in the rear. With the angle of the top arms so different to the angle of the lower arms, the pinion angle is going to change dramatically with any suspension travel at all. Its going to bind itself up on cornering, and I cant see any engineer passing it.
I'm not trying to take anything away from you, the quality of your work is exceptional. I just can't see how it can work.

Cheers Steve,
First 4-link I've done so I'm not sure??? What do you think needs changing? I've just gone off all the pics I have seen etc etc plus some reading. About 150mm of travel. The pinnion does change a bit. From -3 to around +1ish when fully dropped..
When lifitng it manually it seems to work fine. And as for the angle. They say anything from 30 - 45deg is fine, 45 being optimal and that's exactly what we have. The lower arms are facing sligly up and the top slightly down to get the "instant centre" to the front of the car and to elliminate squat.

Hey mate,
The way your top arms are set up, they will hold the differential in the central position, so no need for a panhard bar. The problem is, as you said, when you move the diff up one side and down on the other (Ie cornering), the top arms are going to twist and bind the suspension, hence limiting travel. Your setup is very similar to an HQ type suspension.
To get the amount of travel you want, 150mm, I think you will need to run your upper and lower trailing arms parallel. In a perfect world you would try to make them the same length, as shorter top arms will still result in major pinion angle change with up and down movement. If you run parallel trailing arms, you will also need either a panhard bar or a watts link to hold the differential central.
There is an awesome EK build on the forum by a guy called Gary, a black EK sedan with tubs and a similar rear end setup to what I am trying to describe. I'm not sure how to search or find it though.

Ive just gone back and reread the whole thread ,Its bloody hilarious ,starting out with deleted posts which means I can fill in the blanks as to what you were saying hehe ,then bigbirds gripe my gawd ha ha .
can I say I love that this project is at the point its at ,the angle of thinking to overcome the obstacles ,the magic workmanship ,the cleanliness ,the ability to shoot down nearly every dumb comment succesfully and sometimes with humour ha!
Love watching from the sidelines and I still have a few questions to problems that will need to be overcome but Im patiently waiting to see rather than ask

Cheers again Harko... And thanks for keeping me in the dark?
Bigbird is a fantastic example of the perfect human. Good for him
Car looks pretty gnarly on 22's sitting 50mm from the deck

4-link works awesome also. After fine tuning we ended up with just over 3 degree pinnion angle from ride height, to no height. There ended up being more than enough flex in the rubbers to stop anything from binding up. The chassis is now fixed in the car and it's back up on the rotisserie and were finished everything underneith off

.. Should be rolling with a full floor and boot again soon!

Thanks guys. Two months is a long time... We've done a fair bit, mostly floor work. The rails are in, trans tunnel is finished etc. I'm just waiting on a set of wheels and a brake kit to come in from the states so the tubs & diff can be finished up. I'll chuck up a pic of the floor in a few days and get a few more up once it's rolling again.... Edging closer to completion.
