Maybe - Mark and the guys at Dynomotive have a very long history with greys for speedway and sprints so I am sure they know what they are doing - will see with mine own eyes tomorrow

I liked this thread a lot !
It will be interesting to see updates as you go and hopefully the rest of the drive train will be sympathetic and just accept there is more power !!!
Steady right foot required but once rolling a accelerator stop may be needed, oh and an excuse for the big smile you will probably have all the time

The diff has been re-built and now has a tru trac in it - albeit still a 10 spline with original axles - new tailshaft - Gearbox had been re-built already so fingers crossed
We haven't gone crazy on the boost as I didn't want to risk the rest of the motor being the original but hoping it ads a bit of fun to the drive.
And just having a working running Wray Supercharger is a rarity in itself - the only other one I know of was used in a postal delivery car in Sydney Somewhere but it has disappeared in recent years so may no longer be operational.
Harvs build's will test the limits I am sure.

Not sure how to feel about the result - they got 98.1 HP at 4000 Rpm so around 30HP increase over stock which I guess isnt bad given the motor is essentially stock and we toned it down a bit so as not to kill it - maybe later I can swap the crank pulley back to a bigger one to get a bit more boost

Not too shabby for a grey Rob. 50% power increase. I guess it depends on the tractability. If it is manageable to drive in traffic it should be rather nice indeed.

You have way more than a 50% increase in power over stock. Probably 100%. You're comparing a chassis dyno output against an SAE horsepower rating.
SAE horsepower is a number dreamed up essentially for marketing purposes, and overestimates the engine's power by a great deal. I remember reading about the first prototype 308: it achieved 140-160 bhp on an engine dyno, the engineers were happy with its output, and production 308s were rated at 240 hp SAE.
It would be interesting to put a healthy stock grey on a chassis dyno, but I'd be surprised if it produced 40 bhp.

That's not a bad outcome at all. SAE (taxable) horsepower for an EK is only 22.5HP. Brake horsepower is 75 ponies. Add a 30% driveline loss and you are at 52 ponies at the wheels. You've got near 100% over that.
As a comparison, take my son's VL Commodore. Factory 167 ponies at the crank, or 116hp at the wheels. It's 25 years younger than your car, and realistically 40 years younger engine design. We leaned (heavily) on the head, the cam is driveable but horrible below 2500rpm, great exhaust, full Haltech engine management. Moneypit. It only pulls 147 ponies on the rolling road.
The real test is either how it runs on the road, or how it performs in front of a christmas tree.
