Unpack the Lovells 2" lowered coil springs...I love the look of these...
Next was to line up the king pin... First I tested that both the upper and lower pins were a good fit and threaded through easily. With the home made spring compressor and the trolley jack I carefully compressed the spring and lined up all the lower outer king pin holes
Trying to get everything lined up, plus the rubbers seated properly and the king pin centred was painful. It took me a few go's to get it right.
More pics to come...

Hey, slow down big fella.
Where are the posts with "this won't fit" and "where the hell does this go" ?

.
Seriously, love the work your doing, and love that your doing it with Thomas, very cool

Great work Stew.
This is one of my favourite threads and if you can somehow save it I reckon it would be a great part of the car and your families history. Thomas was only a little guy when you retrieved the car from under the pine tree and now HE is doing ALL the work
I'm with Mick - you guys are doing an excellent job with detail - like a pro but at a greatly reduced cost.
How's the paint going so far?
Dave Mac

Hi Stewart,
been a while since I last took a peek at where you were up to...... took me ages to go back through your posts and catch up...
Hmmmm..... bet there's a lot of people watching this ....not only drooling at your achievments - but wishing, and wishing, and wishing...
Outstanding effort and discipline, Stewart - I'd hate to be the one to ask you to drive over a dirt road...
I fully expect you have this vehicle insured...... space junk falls every day, sheds catch fire.... but more likely - some blasted idiot cannot resist the temptation to drive a vehicle into someone's lounge/bedroom.....
frats,
Rosco

Thanks heaps everyone for the commments.
Where are the posts with "this won't fit" and "where the hell does this go" ?
The workshop manual comes in handy...and as Blacky has suggested having the FB to check how things go back together helps...
How's the paint going so far?
Bootlegger has worked his magic on the hanging panels...I've got to get them on the body...
No worries Wayne.
Many thanks Steve, Sam, Rosco, Andrew...
I'd hate to be the one to ask you to drive over a dirt road...
...I wont be following you on any Nats Observation Runs like at Yamba...I recall a small detour down a dirt road...
