Just read the whole thread.
Looking good....about 7-8 years ago when I was 28'ish I was thinking 17 wires for my EK.....didn't end up going that route, but that makes me twice and interested in your build. Looks like you have the skills and support in your corner. Looking forward to seeing the rest.

Cheers

Its truly a fine example of re-engineering the belittled Holden front end. The fabrication is beautiful, but Just one thing concerns me, STEERING :?: .................To squeeze some width out of the crossmember, you have to really narrow a steering rack for it to work, and with it that narrow I don't think it will work sufficiently. Unless you have another plan up your sleeve, for more sneaky designs.
But then again with those size wheels lock would not be a issue I guess, just maybe DOT or RTA would want suitable turning radius........Please don't take this the wrong way, as its just a thought

I really love how you can think well outside the square, and bring them to fruition, just as a lot of others on here. 8) 8)
Cheers John

Cheers John. Dads shortening an Lj rack at the moment so hopefully that will work good enough, pretty confident ???.. 10point turns will be on the card anyway I think

Gonna try make 2011 Nats Harko, hopefully we can both get there ;).

Thanks again rollin, It might be the result of too much of an imagination. I've seen too much cool stuff to know just about anything can be done..

Here are a few pics of the partially completed air bag installation.. As you can see there has been more chopping to get it all to sit as low as possible. The last pic is with no load on the bag. When fully deflated it will sit 40mm lower than std (without drop hubs) and should sit 50mm off the ground.

Got a Bit more done today... End result, front of sil sits 90mm off the ground on standard hq stubs with the 22's..Once I get some 20's for the front and drop spindles is should sit half that.

i reckon these would suit nice, so what the go 22's on the back 20's on the front?

265's... Never be able to turn em ;) So they need to go anyway. The smaller the diameter, the lower I can get the car and the less radialising I have to do to the front guards. So I'm going to get 20's

Small up-date.. I've picked a new set of wheels. Just need to have them built and painted in the states.

Tripple cross lace with 4-5inch dish for the back..
Image

Same thing for the front except in a bead lace. These will be 20x5.5.

Still using the pollished rim with red spokes..

Also, the front end is basically done. Fully set up to take re 5.5 air bags and can sit even lower now. Will come super close to being able to lay flat even with the 20's.. knocked up some notches for the 3/4 chassis just need to peice all of that together and fix it to the car with the new 9" and custom triangle 4link.
