I certainly hope so !

Just knocked off , was on a march with a horrible fiddly job so worked back and broke its back. Setting up the column and the penetration through the firewall was giving me a headache but got it sussed now.
I made my own collapsible column out of a FB/VK/VN combo and it’s too short to go through the firewall so I used the VL setup but it involves a bit of jiggery pokery- have to fab up a bracket to support the bottom of the column then make a collar for the boot -

Then trim the ring to suit the shape of the floor and the bottom of the column collar - I stuck the ring and the collar on the column and through the floor , marked and trimmed it then put the floor plate in to check it until it fit then glued it together

Yes hours of fun !!!!
Just remember that the top mount needs to have slip away tabs to be fully collapsible. I know a lot of engineers let the original bracket hold the top part of the tube but its not right. It needs to collapse toward the firewall, that's how they are designed to work.

Blacky I have this coming up to. I was going to modify/ join the old firewall column plates and weld them straight on to the column ( like the torana column I will be using has ).Breakaway tabs on dash mount. Is this not an option?

I'm not worried about breakaway tabs, the original cast clamp is a breakaway of sorts - it will bust off with a decent hit
In hindsight I should have made the floor plate one piece - thinking Mark 2 may be on the cards

Ha Ha,
That won't work the second time round, I think to be sure it will be mark 3 !!!!!!!
That's my story most of the time, 3 goes before its right !!!
Good job anyhow Blacky.

The problem solving techniques some of you blokes have is inspiring.
My brain wouldn’t know how to imagine such things.
Looking good

Some serious work and hours for that. It always looks quick to make or do in photo's but reality and time is much longer. Including coffee breaks. Good effort mate.

Got the handbrake cables sorted out today - after sorting out irrigation dramas at one neighbours place and an air conditioner blowing hot air at another neighbours

Was in 2 minds whether to use VK cables to suit the diff or custom made and utilise the standard setup - went with the standard arrangement and custom made cables after weighing up the pros and cons .
Needed to make a pulley bracket to move the passenger side cable away from the muffler - started with this

Cut it out and tweaked it to suit -
