Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Done deal I can't say I understand how you could have driven it to the nats and back unregistered - or was was it registered and you needed to get it recertified for the modifications ? Seems like a weird system over there ........
I started with nothing and still have most of it left.

It was registered and I had applied to change the engine and met the requirements. Just hadn't had it inspected as there simply wasn't time. Then I foofed around for a bit, well a out 5 months. Was it strictly legal? I notified my insurer of the modifications. I wasn't going to miss Toowoomba if I could avoid it. The engine it was previously registered with was a 186. There was enough argument for me.

Took mum and kids out to celebrate. Kids had to find their own way to dinner at the Victory Hotel, Sellicks Hill. Bloody good sirloin. Back roads there and back. She complained of fumes. Crankcase isn't being ventilated properly. It's a good thing the walking stick turned up today.

Ticked off a few items. At this stage it seems the tie rod play was due to a loose lock nut, though keeping an eye on it. Idle backed off to 550rpm. Draft tube fitted.
Exhaust is touching the body above the rear axle and the car is going in Monday for a fix.
I thought I'd take myself for a Friday arvo surf down to Middleton on this hot summer day. Stopped at Mt Compass to check slight lifter noise and decided to carry on. Another 12km started running rough so pulled over. No tools so called the RAA. Suspect another broken rocker and hoping it's not cam or lifter.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
What is it with me and rocker arms? Maybe the high lift cam. RAA contractor Mike brought us home safely and efficiently on the tilt tray. I was 10km over the 20km limit so cost me $100. I didn't fancy nursing it home on busy 100kmh roads on a hot Friday arvo.
Dear Father Christmas (none of this Santa bs),
I've been very good, trust me, and I'd really really like a set of roller rockers for Christmas.

I've got a set of rollie rockers here...
... but you would have to change back to a grey
(and run custom ball-end pushrods).
Cheers,

Not really. I don’t have a tachometer but wouldn’t have been over 4500. Obviously something not right though. I’ve done a lot of red six miles and never had this issue before this motor.
