Do you have to change to HR style arms when installing a HR front end?
Or will a fb bolt in.
I have good sump clearance with the steering arm atm and it looks the HR sit back a little more closer to the sump.
When was the change to the later style arms.ImageImageImageImage

Don’t have to but I reckon it reduces play. I put one on my king pin front in the ute.

The only measurement you need to the engine block is to centre the crank snout in the semi circular cut out in the centre of the bottom radiator support panel.ImageImage
Rob Ardiesse put me on to this. The cut out was put there to enable fitting the harmonic balancer removal tool.

You’ll have to swap the calipers side to side to get the bleed screws back on top. 8)

Do the remote vh44 boosters need to be changed out when going to a disk brake front end.

Vh40 is used with discs I believe. It is larger. But then I've known cars that run discs unboosted successfully. You could try the vh44 and see how it goes.

Pretty sure that's what I did. I certainly didn't delete the bottom rubbers and rectangular washers as was suggested on the FE FC site.

I made a rough jig to measure the height and distance of the out rigger on the ek frame and on the hr frame, 99% certain it will end up the correct height and length to the front mount support? Does this sound correct.Image

mph.

When I did mine 30 years ago, at the young age of 22 I just cut it off welded it the HR front like you are doing and it fit perfect. I don't think I even measured it !

You can buy the HR to EK rubbers as a kit so don't be tempted to cut the EK mounts off its just a waste of time.

I will second what Greg says. At the same time he was doing his disc conversion I was doing mine. . . The early crossmember outrigger fitted straight onto the HR crossmember. I used all the HR mounting hardware (bolts, washers, spacer tubes and rubbers) and it worked fine.
