Rule of thumb says around 100 flywheel kW whereas factory quoted 86kW for the carb 202 VK.

New rubber of a different kind

New boot rubber I ordered back at the end of June. The battery cradle made it a bit of a pain to install.
During the process I spilt some beer on it so Elle will be happy that it smells nice, just like me.

Replaced the manifold gasket and it is running well after I eventually got the inlet lined up properly.
Also replaced the cork rocker cover gasket with Speco neoprene and steel item glued to head and torqued down fingers and toes crossed. I hope it isn’t going to continue leaking in the same spot at the front Carby side. Buzzed the black coating off easy with wire brush then thinners took the rest off.

Bit of a theme going I like it

Thanks to forum member 60 special, Trevor and Karen for selling their pride and joy to us. There is a chance I may even get to drive/play with it now and then.

Ok didn’t mean to quote myself there, doh. Job that needed doing since I got back from Temora last June. Take off rear door trims, clean out and fish oil, now done. Polished up the door furniture and put new handles on. Fronts still to do.
Other jobs to be done are oil and lube and re-fit trimatic pan gasket #$&*grrrr…. And swap the new alternator in.
Club cruise tomorrow so it’ll get washed in the morning.

Door handles look great Clay.
Be careful when polishing the scuff plates, mine i think were anodised aluminium, couldn't get them shinny.
I ended with S/Steel and sandblasted the frosting.

Ye thanks Greg I’m taking it cautiously. Just get the crud off really. These ones appear to be stainless and have the etch. I think they may be originals, remembering the car was done late 90s.

Box ticked

Planning to try and fettle the grill snd indicators which are a bit wonky.

As well as replace the front passenger bumper section.

and the bonnet bar

Just because I’ve got slightly better spare bits…..

Very handy having the hoist for this.

I’m intending to take off the over riders so I got some stainless coach head bolts. Smallest they had at Mitre 10 was m10 but they are a bit big. Looks like a trip to Bunnings, grrrr….
