Top stuff Paul and Ben, well done indeed! :D :D Great to see on the forum such a top quality and fastidious restoration to original condition. A really inspiring build. Cannot wait to see more progress pics.

SunnyTim wrote:Beautiful Paul and Ben some hours there. One question, why the extra effort to keep everything 100% original specs (eg green wiring clips and re cad (zinc) plating everything exactly as it was), and then fit extractors, plastic reserviors and a VH44 booster in the engine bay?

Must say, I thought the same thing.

Either way, Its bloody Nice, and a credit to all involved.
The time involved must be huge.

This is not a full strip total restoration with a bottom less budget, and my previous post from last year outlines this.
When Ben bought the wagon the master cylinders and the extractors were recient additions, just before the car was last registered in 2002.
The cylinders were kitted and refitted, and the extractors put back on and a stock exhaust will be joined up to them
A Brake booster is not an incorrect period addition, and as most would know is great to have when sharing the roads with modern cars.
And this car will be seeing regular use once completed.

As for the rest of the work performed in returning the engine bay and other areas to almost factory fresh condition, i find it extremly hard to put dirty or aged pieces back next to rebuilt or NOS parts. But that just the way I approach and do work of this kind.

With a lifetime of building cars, I am always looking at what and how other people do to theirs. And then ask myself how or why they did it.
And people do the same to my work.
Asking the person that did the work questions is even better.

The wagon is almost finished!
All it needs is the mud flaps and a new battery.
I will start posting an updated selection of the rebuild pictures this week

I dont have many new visitors to my shop, except for another wagon owner who dropped in reciently and saw it.
Here are some shots taken in the last few weeks as the final details were added.
With and without Cruzin Skirts, and the fitting of the sun visor
Hope these will be ok till I start posting more detailed shots of the mostly unseen work that goes into a job like this

Hey Benny, great looking wagon, lots of pleasure and looks from everyone that sees it. Where did you get your crizin skirts from? I'm after a set and also have a mate that is wanting them too. Keep up the postings and great work Paul, a credit to your business. Cheers, Graham.
