Hmmmm. No licence and a pregant wife.
I had the same situation many years ago, lost mine for 11 months. I was lucky that I got mine back just before the baby was due (our first). Trust me you will look back on it and laugh. :D :D :D But probably not for a few years yet.   You might need to convert to an auto.

looks like a great start, one thing i like about old paint jobs weather they're good or bad you know that there hasn't been any real shonky stuff done cause it would be showing by now the repairs you say it needs are all pretty common and not too hard to do
does it have a disc brake front i don't see a booster in the engine bay, maybe it just has a HR/balljoint front :?:
do you have any old rego papers for it, was it regoed with the 186, this can make rego easier
looks in the pics to be a good buy for the money 8)
just think the way things are going by the time you get yor licence back you won't be able to afford the fuel to put in it :? :(
i read the thing about you loosing yor licence that has me confused :? and i'de be EXTREMELY p!$$ed  off and probably locked up  cause i'de have lost it at the judge

Nah, not even close!! I ran a 2" spacer under a 4 barrel on my red in my ek and about a 4" filter. Heaps of room, no need for holes or give aways alls not as it should be....

RB: thanks, haven't got rego papers but i've got the rego sticker in the window with the 186 engine number on it. it's got a hr drum front at the moment  .
oldnek and ekjay: nah i'm not using that shonky set up. just used it for measuring up for clearance under the bonnet. i'm going to use a K&N 11x4 inch filter, i used to have one through the bonnet of my hz 308 tonner 8) 8)

I love the look of that motor, just looks tough. Black and Chrome, very nice. 8) 8) 8) 8)

I believe you'll need a disc brake front end to get rego on it. :? :? Not sure if it's the same rule down south.

hey finny, thanks yeah i love the black and chrome, it makes the chrome really "pop", as for front end my engineer just wants a hr front, drum is fine, so i'm happy with that. i will upgrade later but that means i can spend more of my money on getting the rest of the car nice.

well last weekend deconstruction began i now have both bumpers off grill, front lower panel and both front guards off. it was heaps of fun getting into actual work on zippo rather than just cleaning, but it was needed so i could see what i had to work with.
