Hemis right to reply
My turn to fess up,
I had received three complaints - well one question and two complaints actually....................
I messaged other moderators (not all, I admit) and questioned the post - I received response from those I contacted and together we deliberated a response.
If you want to string me up for acting on what I believe is part and parcel of a moderator's duty - then I'll supply the rope.
I would like to believe I take an unbiased view from what is posted and as mentioned I did not find the pic offensive - I understood fully that some - especially with vulnerable onlookers may have (and did).
I would like to thank all moderators for the co-operation over the past few months and truly hope the site can learn from this experience.
I would like to believe that common sense with some degree of sensitivity to others opinion will prevail................
It will be a very sad day for all of us if we cannot overcome what appears the very first major hurdle we need to make.
I will have to consider my position very carefully and encourage members to advise me if I have acted beyond my duties.
I must publicly apologise to Blacky for not including him in those I conferred with - I did not wish to include him in the debate as there was some direct link to the post and I mistakenly chose to exclude him from my messages.
I further apologise to Hemi - although through pm's we exchanged, stated my position and offered support with issues arising.
I muist accept some degree of responsibility for what has eveolved - I hope members understand the role of moderator is as representative of the membership - if I am misrepresenting the membership by my actions I will, of course, resign the position immediately.................
Stewart, I very much hope you continue as NSW moderator - I have had nothing but total support and cohesion with you - the forum and membership will suffer greatly if you withdraw your labour.
I do not know who will take the reins if a number of moderators withdraw in unison.
I invite all forum members to pm or email me as I feel very awkward at present.
As stated, I will supply the rope if a lynching is warranted.
frats,
Rosco

Rosco
that was one of the thoughts i had maybe someone with kids, although i reckon they see the same if not worse on a daily bassis
stingray you didn't complain about the pic you just asked a question and i know prolly better than anyone that it's hard to get something across the right way when typing it on a computer
and stewart i for one don't blame you for what you did you were only doing yor job
but i will say in general the forum has been a little tense of late

Re: Hemis right to reply
Rosco, Stewart, I believe you did the right thing.HEMI wrote: I don't get on forums very often and only had this brought to my attention by a PM.
To anyone offended by this picture just remember, it was a picture taken by me (not a photographer) hidden away in a shed on another forum and was never meant for a front page.
Everyone, just chill out, let's all get along! You gotta remember that it wasn't even Hemi who put the damn thing on here so don't have a go at him.
We're on here to share our common interest in cars - esp. FB's & EK's, let's not forget that & get on with life!

Stewart, you do a great job, and will continue to do so.
Rosco, you wont need that rope. you also do a great job.
This has turned into a storm in a teacup.
Get over it people...( that is the minority that have a problem with it, whatever side of the fence you sit on )
I'm no prude, neither is Stinga
I have a calender ( with pics like THAT one )hanging on the inside of a cupboard in my shed. Thats where it belongs.
Now get on with something important like working on your FB/EK's
If any one else feels compelled to PM or E-mail
a moderator on this subject, direct all correspondence to me.
Leave Stewart & Rosco alone.
I will contact them IF I have to.
PM me Here or E-Mail jtee@esc.net.au

Crikey, dont come on for a look for a day or 2 and look out definately not a mods fault. I thought the pic was quite good actually!! One thing I always liked about this forum is there was no bitching, unlike a few of the other car forums. As stated a storm in a tea cup which will blow over quickly...........it was a nice pic...........
Agreed, lets move on.
Yesterday I wanted to leave (pack up my toys and go home)
BUT today I want to be a moderator!!!
I've had a fair bit of people experience being involved in setting up the Mens Shed in Gawler, Playford Mens Group and got the fbek club started here in SA.
My father is a well respected aboriginal elder who has worked in the mental health area in WA.
I'm no Rhoddes Scholar (getting my education on the streets) at 15 but I've found since being on the puter having to learn to spell.
I'm passionate about these cars given what I've built and the almost 30 years being involved.
Tina is studying law at Para West and has offered to help me.
BTW
If anyone wants a calandar make a $10 donation to the tarlov cyst foundation (getting 3 of the top neurosurgens together from around the world) to maybe one day fix my back problem and i can take those threats of violence seriously.
Thankyou
Mark Abrook

Hi Mark,
Yes everyone is entitled to their own opinion as long as the "content is not racial, violent, sexual or abusive in nature"
I hope that clears it up.
