I did think about the toyota engine but if i can go holden i would like to keep it that way!!!
The 5.0 injected engine, I have thought about and I have decided against it.... 1) Because as ratbox said, it will use the same as the 5.7....maybe more
2) They are older and there for they will be more used and worn.
3) They are a heavier engine - and i would like to keep the weight down as much as possible.
I am thinking the 5.7 is the option to go for, yes it will be more expensive, but it will be good fun and theres nothing like a challenge, and i`m pretty sure it hasnt been done down here!!!

Planning on doing this on Monday....if i get a chance!!!
I know i have seen EK's with a V8 in them, but i just dont know if they will allow one this big, so iu will certainly check, and certainly hope its allowed!!!
Just quickly.....is there any kits made for the 5.7 Gen to go into an EK, or anything along these lines that will help the fitment???
Also there wouldnt be anything like this for the toyota motor, so wouldnt this make it a more expensive exercise, even when the half cut would be $4000-$5000 cheaper???
What do you guys think???

kits try pat gardener
www.v6conversions.com.au
or castle auto electrical don't know anymore than they are at castlemain
good luck i,m pretty sure this will be a very tricky and expensive exercise but if it's what you want there's only one person that it has to please, and don't get the impression that i don't like the idea i do will be trick if or when done
oohh another thing that may be a drama and or expensive re: the gen3 the sump, they're not normal

Right well I have found out........ready!!!
I cant do it......going on the standard weight of the utility (Kerb Weight 2452 lbs = 1114.55kilo`s....i then have to times this by 0.4
1114.55x0.4
=
445.82
This means that i can have an engine which is 4.45ci
So here is my dilema -
I want a V8.....maybe must have

and i really dont want to be forking out a shit load of money on fuel, so please throw me your ideas and opinions on all ideas.....I was thinking a quite old 253??? The toyota engine 1uz-fe, but it will be very hard to fit as its HUGE!!!
So please go nuts with recommendations!!!

injected 5 litre with a 253 number stamped on it
if you want to be legal intected top end on a 253 bottom end
check the formular and calculations cause i'm pretty sure in every other state in OZ you can at least have a 308

Sorry it does appear that i have made a mistake......when the car weighs over 1100kgs you times it by 0.5......this makes it.....5.572ci
So yes the 308 is a possibility and also a 327 Chev or a 307 Chev!!! But i do want to be able to get some decent fuel consumption out of it!!!
So i guess thats better than my previous calculations and this one is correct
So thoughts on fuel consumption, is the 308 heavy on juice??? Or does it depend how you drive it, and also whats the difference really between the 253 and 308 when it comes to fuel consumption....???
So many questions i know....sorry!!! Wish i could go 350

The injected 308 is very good on juice.
I had a mate with one in his VK Commodore that got 500 km to the tank and my stock 6cl VK was good for about 280 km.

To please the rego authorities and to perhaps make it cheaper and maybe a little easier to fit, like Trev said I'd go for the 308 injected ( 304 if we want to be technical ) and maybe once its fitted and passed by the rego authorities you might be able to stroke it to around the 355 ci mark with a stroker crank if you really want the 350 cubes.
If you go 308, have a play with it for a few months before you think about stroking ( I'm talking about the motor here

) as I'm sure you'll be happy with the performance of the 308 in an FB/EK as is, and your wallet will thank you as well.
