Paul
I did a mates EK with the exhaust comming out through the bumper ends.
Made up a set of SS outlets and cut an opening in each bumper end.
Looks smart and changes the look of the rear of the car

His wagon is coming along quite well. Pity you blokes arnt down in Vic this weekend, big day Sunday at Ferntree Gully Hotel, Rockabilly Meltdown. Six bands with a kustom show an shine in the carpark, your cars would fit in perfect. Im crusing down with a couple a FE/C kustoms rat 57 pontiac at this stage. Anyone from Vic going? Enough now dont want to hijack yr post. How far off the road is yr EK?

They look good with the ends worn off on the bottom.
Just have to be careful when backing up in some places, can cause a lot of damage

EKK001 wrote:And Sammy, when will i see this FB ute? Do you have one already on the road?
mate i got no idea at the moment ... i was making good progress on it before the floods and now it looks like its going to be sitting in a mates shed for atleast 3-4 months .... i will be trying to get the engine rebuilt during this time and see if i can get it to go again but yeah progress is going to be slow until i find a place to live with enough shed space .... we are hoping to buy a house before the yr is out!!
as for one on the road, I have an LH Torana and VZ SV6 Ute, i used to have a royal blue EK Wagon with a white roof you may have seen around town .... i used to cruise newy around the time FCCool was here, i met him once but haven't seen him around for years. not that i bother cruising anymore too many dickheads in rice burners attracting cops!
question time...

Hey Mattymartin,
Yeah i think there have been a couple of pics of it around before.... it was used for the pearlcraft ad in Cruizin mag a while back... that might be where you saw it...
As for the front indicators, i got these from Classic Plastic, they need a tiny bit of file finishing to fit but they are a pretty cool unit...
As for the horn cap, its actually a Mooneyes bullet cap drilled through the original centrepiece... its the exact same bullet as the one on the hubcaps..
As for flamethrowers, i bought these a few years back, got them from the states as none were readily available in oz back then... I got someone to weld the sparkplug bungs in the tailpipe but dad and i did the rest.. it was pretty straight forward, a bit of playing around getting the technique right..
Will try and get a photo of the pink exhaust setup for you in the next week, theres not much to it really...
As for the purple one, well i have 2 extractors that bolt onto the manifold that will stay as 2 separate pipes all the way through, im not sure how this will affect performance, i just know that it sounded real cool when i heard it...
Sammy, yeah i think i remember the wagon, what was the number plate?
Yeah i know what you mean about the dickheads, its been a real long time since i saw nice old cars cruising around.....
your ek's

Hey matty, I run jack meyer headers on my sedan, with twin straight through exhaust. I have found that sound wise its fantastic but I lose alot of bottom end power and need to have about 3000rpm to get off at the lights. Maybe look at having an equallizing pipe installed to gain some bottom end, But the look of twin fishtails is priceless. I paid $500 bucks to have the exhaust installed and then paid $700 to have my dummy side pipes made out of stainless but thats the price you pay for the look you want and once paid you don't have to pay any more. Matty, I love the cackle the twin system gives so I don't mind the lack of bottom end(How your opinion changes in a few minutes!)

my wagon had either mmy138 or sam272 plates on it during my owner ship ...
and before anyone asks about the 138 plate, it came on a car my dad bought and he transferred his personal plates off the ek and i got the 138 plates ... the car had a 202 in it
