Bit of a coincidence this is the motel we are staying at at Brunswick Heads, and they have a picture of a local EK on their card.

Hanging around Lennox, Broken Head until Saturday. After I spilled red on the rug Elle insisted on going up to Ocean Shores to pick up a new replacement. Jeeze, women….

Solid waves at Broken Head today.

Lennox is a fun wave with uncrowded options.

Having a break from the car

Friendly locals, glamping in an air conditioned tent.

Plenty shops for her to look at Greg. Spent a day at the Crystal Castle out back of Mullumbimbi the other day and she bought these sounding bowls. Billet quartz from USA. Sound like car parts, but actually , they sound awesome. $$$

Meanwhile hired this pig this morning and got a taste.

Now I’ve got an appetite. Went and bought a new board, fins, leggy and soft racks, oh and a l/s vest.

Conditions look good next 5 days. Home by Christmas.

Just seen your post Harv. Thanks for the thoughts sir. Wouldn’t mind swinging by yours on the way home if it worked out. Many factors involved including mother’s whim.

Looks like we’re going to miss you guys Blacky as we’re planning to get home next Saturday 27th.
Had a couple of surfs but conditions now average. Yesterday went to Bangalow. Lovely old buildings. Must have been pretty prosperous here back in the day. Shot for Blacky.

This morning we are heading inland to Dunoon to visit John Rayner. He has about 600 items listed on gumtree and I have bought quite a few bits from him in the past. Mainly he has Holden, a lot of it NOS. Also &*#@ valiant and Toyota. His prices are reasonable and I’m really curious to find out where he gets all his stuff. I’ve picked out a bunch of parts and the total is pretty close to the cash I received from the club to subsidise fuel usage. Happy coincidence.

So coming into Dunoon looking for John’s place by his description, Elle sees a bloke wave at us from his driveway. We pull up and I get out and ask him if he is John, and he is. Chat for a while and show him the car. Then he asks how does he know me? Got the wrong John and he directs me to the correct address.
John started Rare Spares in Melbourne together with Les McVeigh back in early 80s. Still selling off left over stock from when he eventually sold out his shop in Brisbane. He prices his stuff just below generally agreed going rate, so it sells well. Uses gumtree more or less exclusively and occasionally adds to his stock, but really just wants to move it on while he still can, being 73. Very affable and friendly fellow.
Few little trinkets I got.

Headed via Lismore through Casino and Grafton. Great road Casino to Grafton. 100kmh, good surface, uncrowded an pretty rolling pasture, forest and scrub. After spending time on the coast in getting an understanding why Ratbox hates it. Full of entitled Sydney retirees and holiday makers. Way too many people for my liking though the race demographic is a nice change.
Anyway we made to Mulluway Beach, just north of Coffs.

Time for a frothy.
