Didn’t you have to cut grooves in the block for the bars to clear?

I seem to have missed an important point - Why was there be a need to install an electric pump into the petrol tank?

Because I fitted a steel billet camshaft that you can not run a mechanical fuel pump on and in tank pumps are super Quiet
