Mephious,

Why don't you try and do this to your Eka, and make it a hatchback.

I thought I'd have some fun on Photoshop again.

Hey John,

Got a soft spot for the old Plymouth Barracuda have we?

Its also obvious you have way too much free time on your hands!

Have you started the Suby powered VW yet?

Must be the S model Cudda your thinking of Greg, I actually never really thought of any vehicle whilst I was in my aneabreated state after 1 bottle of red, and playing with photoshop, But now you mention it, the S Cudda comes to mind I think in only the rear window section though!.

I'm still giving a mate of mine a hand to finish his Fargo ute, the blue one thats in the shop you saw that time you called in, He's been pretty slack in coming in and doing a bit himself on his Fargo so it still sits there, so the Beetle's on the plan in the future. I've had plenty of offers on my car so I'm not sure what to do. To sell or not to sell. I going to the Yamba Nationals so I won't decide till then. Pretty keen to start another project though.

EK283, re the getting the car rego'd with a big motor - I know the capacity limit table you are quoting and it seems that if you can find an accommodating engineer that will engineer a car for you can get around these limits. I have seen several cars that have engines way over these capacity limits but are fully engineered and road registered.

Problem is with liability issues getting worse and worse in australia it seems such engineers are getting harder to find.

A few examples of cars with ridiculously oversized engines fully engineered and road registered in NSW in last 5 years:

- valiant centura 440 cu.in. V8 (a valiant centura is about 1000-1100kg from factory!!) do the math on that one

- valiant charger 440 cu.in. V8 (the charger is about 1200kg from factory)

- custom built road racer weight 600kg engine 3.5 liter 200kW, I actually had a drive of this, OMFG

- plus several early holdens with 350 cu.in. V8's

All of these cars I have seen with my own eyes all with full NSW rego all fully engineered with the said motors............makes you wonder.

The valiant centura was by far the most ridiculous, because everything had to be relocated out of the engine compartment to slot that insane motor in there (this includes brake booster mast. cyl, battery, windsheild washer reservoir, radiator pushed foward, and the firewall still had to be recessed about 6 inches as well).

EK Special.
Just to clarify the said vehicle weights, these are the actual weights not the approximate ones, and thats what the base vehicles have been engineered on.

Centura KB base model 1235kgs KC series GLX 1255kgs

Valiant Charger Base Model 1355kgs Sports Pak 1420kgs then add another 23kgs for the Pacer or Regal models.

Valiant 4 Door Sedan 1406kgs for the Six and 1724kgs for the V8.

Now with the sportscar, proberly dosn't matter as it is maybe a ICV.

Now redo your calculations, and you will then realise why they have been engineered.
