Several dessicated mouse car cases under the rear floor. The subframe is chock full of dirt which I’m doing my best to flush out with the garden hose.

Previous owner sent me these photos from when he aquired the car a few years ago. ImageImageImage

No I don’t Neil. Was going to see if I could repair it but if you’ve got one I would love to do a deal.

Off to get a battery. She turns easy by hand making me think comp is down. L series grey from the van donated needle and seat and pump to carb pipe. Scrounged leads from here and there. Plugged wiper port in the manifold temporarily. Poured oil in the plug holes. Image
I knocked the carb out of the vice jaws and seems I have stuffed the choke lever. Might have to raid the grey again? The cast base is broken on it anyway. See if it fits.

12v at the starter +. Turns by hand. Very hard to even check the resistance across the terminals with the extractors let alone get it out. Was it taken off the road because the starter fused? That would be better than engine trouble looking on the bright side. Extractors will have to come off I suppose. Maybe I’ll check with rego first.

I’ve got cheapie 4-into-1 headers on mine and the starter comes out easily enough. Had to do that so I could lift the motor out, leaving the starter in place.

It was easy enough to get the ‘stractors off once I accessed the rear bolt via the ubiquitous firewall custom access hole.Image
They obviously never needed to do the rear Welch plug.

Image a hole the size of a 2c piece.Image more shrapnelImageImageImageImageImageImage

Hey Clay, what’s the deal with that switch and blanking plate on the dash where the indicators normally go? Is that normal for you beaut’ blue yoots, or a modification?
Also, you going to put a CB radio back in that roof lining cutout above the mirror? 😀

Cheers,
John
