Trev, did anyone put their hand up to restore Black Magic - or was it a foregone conclusion that no-one would..?

That engine on the floor - a lot easier to replace a head gasket..... we all know that this engine has a fresh head gasket..

A cool old car. It is sad to see it cut up but focus on cool wagon and drive the wheels off that one. Your cars dont sit idle much which is the way I like em.

Unless you've had a good look at the condition of this and how dodgy the bog work was to make it look "far better" than it really is (before I bought it) you really don't know how bad it really is Rosco.
Now, do I use it to get my other car on the road and sell off parts or do I spend a big chunk of cash getting it blasted just to find out what I think I already know, it's a basket case!
I'm not even sad about it, I've driven the wheels off this thing for 12 years and had a ball doing it.
Do yourselves a favour people, drag out those low mileage ornaments that are stashed in your garages and sheds and thrash the shit out of them, it's great fun!!!

Yeah. My FB has 10 foot paint job, sporty D'or floorshift with white poolball knob, lowered with rusty Tasmans painted silver and a Howling Grey soundtrack and a spiffy EJ Premier wheel and a blanket on the seat. As a daily car, I think its the most fun you can have standing up! Get that cool wagon going and I give it to it! Baby windscreen coming soon.

I'm somewhat comforted that you believe this dear old girl has well and truly lived out her last years to the fullest with you.

No, no offence taken - mine dear old thing lives in the garage almost as an exhibit - but, it has most certainly served me so well for the 43 years I've been lucky enough to enjoy it.

It would probably come out more if not for us being away for much of the year in the caravan.
No excuse, really - it has missed many club runs when we had time to join in - but didn't.

Made the Anzac Parade last year, missed it this year - hoping to make it next year.

Managed to enjoy the longest ever run to a nats this year - in company at the even with "Black Magic" - ran around Tassie in that great club tour we did way back when.

The old girl finally got a good looking at when it was no longer the work car... and took pride of place as the family limo..
We've done a few weddings - so, really - it does get out... but nothing like Black Magic did as a daily driver...

It has never, nor will it ever - be trailered anywhere unless it can't make it under its own power... I can't see the point in trailering a car to an event.... just so it doesn't get dirty - or stone-chipped.... but appreciate, those who do simply can't bear to suffer any damage.. I do feel some sadness for those with such an incessant obsession..
No matter how "perfect" any vehicle looks - there "are" things that are not seen... and to purport that any such vehicle is "that" perfect by pretending everything is in the same condition is a bit pretentious... my thoughts.

Back to Black Magic... yes, I witness just how well this dear old girl served you - and those parts which become viewable tell me you and your family were never at risk....

Ok, gotta move some of this ek onto of my shed.
Doors $100 each with quarter vent windows but no guts.
Interior $500 both bench seats, 4 door cards, rear parcel shelf, kick boards (with speakers or holes) and head lining.
Scuff plates front and rear $100.

Pretty much stripped and ready to cut up.
