update:

Went and saw gaz the other day, and told him how long I spent with the wire wheel on the grinder...he was like stuff that!! So he lent me his sand blaster! Legend
Got all setup, ready too go! But my poor old compressor couldn't keep up the pace, so I will have to hire a compressor and come back to this.
Plan on using the blaster to do all the door jambs, around the windows, and go over any bits of rust I have found just to be double sure I didn't miss any spots with the wheel.
So stay tuned!

I'm currently debating the addition of 2 extra cylinders while I still have the chance easily... Might be grabbing a block off a mate this weekend for some trial fitting to see what I have to do for a sump with a rear mounted rack, but there's a ute in here somewhere with the same setup and 308 so figure it's just a little bit more work...

Ek Jays thread makes it look so easy to slip a v8 in the bay hey Nathan.

This wagon seems to have a fair bit of originality about it, so I think this one will be staying with the grey motor.
My sedan on the other hand has been painted and put back together a few times in it's life by the looks so that one will probably cop the extra cylinders....one day!

Won't be long till your onto the wagon gaz, can't blame you for it getting put on the back burner with the other toys you have to tinker with.
Will have to bring the tape and notepad around next time and get the dimensions of your rotisserie.

The way I look at it is, it's pretty much all the same hoops to jump through engineering wise (from what I've read) if your going to put a red 6 in it. For that amount of stuffing around you may aswell go a v8.

If you do choose to go that path, definitely keep us up to date. I've already got a few good ideas for mine from your build.

lucky you 2 have forgotten about or not seen where me and a mate did my van drive in red 6 and 4 speed drive out V8 auto in less than a week working on it part time

got an adapter kit for a 253 to a T700 V6 box sitting in a mates shed i can have... just need to lock in a 253 thats complete and then it could be a goer

Mick... did you use stock exhaust manifold on one of the ones you did? i seem to recall someone doing it but i could be wrong.
