Very very good idea Trev. :ewink:
Seeing as you don't have a road trip this year you could meet us there just to blow the cobwebs out before the weekend   , Trev.

I'll strap a seat on my trailer for you, no guarantees the trailer will make it but I will come back to fetch it if it does come off again   .

I'm sure we could get a seat (inside a car) for you Tim, it just won't be mine sorry.

Hi Trev.

I was thinking of going via Port Fairy, Portland, Warrnambool - Its almost the same time but maybe more scenic
And I haven't been along tehre past Warrnambool for over 20 years so it should be fun

Cheers

Hi Paul,
sure would be "fun" - you might reconsider - Warrnambool, Port Fairy, Portland would be quicker.....
Hamilton route is the quickest - might be the option for the home run... or in both directions for those with express tickets.....

We ran the van down and back to Port Fairy for a week's break in mid January - there's a bit of roadworks going on from the Geelong Bypass as far as Camperdown... that section now sees a lot of traffic....lots of speed restrictions....

Gt Ocean Rd will put at least another 5 hours on your trip... but, if you have the extra day and do a stopover at Warrnambool (our intended route)... it makes the journey quite spectacular... fuel up at the BP on the Geelong Fwy (one each side of road)......for the GOR route .. it's a long run between fuel stops .....if you don't want to get "hawked".... and you WILL need fuel before making the climb up into the Otways and out at Peterborough.... some pretty stiff climbs in there.... and a lot of "moppetts" running along on a pic-nic day out......

Just our 2 bobs worth Paul and Rosco the Heywood to Rennick (vic/sa border) is a really rugged drive at the moment with road works and the road is very very rough....just something to consider, just trying to help. This road is also very busy with the log trucks/ tankers using it between Mount Gambier and Portland Wharf.
cheers
