G Day all

Put some tyres on the 14’s today, not to sure if I like the look just yet. May go some flappers and outer trims. Any thoughts? Will post some pics of the whole ute once the rain stops. Definitely needs lowering may cut a coil or so out in the morning and I have some 2 inch lowering blocks for the rear.
That’s it for the ute for now need to get stuck into the wagon so its ready for the big drive next nats.

Hey all

Got the 14’s on today, used 5mm spacers and longer studs on the front till I get some 3 ½ back space rims.
Think I like it better without the moons, some bullets & chrome nuts may do the trick. I know it needs lowering, ordered some 65 mm lowering springs from Pedder’s will be here Monday.
Swap meet in the morning and hopefully stuck into the wagon in the arvo.
Will get the inner guard templates off to those who wanted them, they will fit on an A4 just figuring out how to get them onto a PDF so I can email

caps no caps i don't mind either lowering will make a big differance know what else you should buy some rattle can grey even if it's primer just to squirt on the bottom of that guard till it's painted

Agree, I have some of the seagull grey paint in the shed, its just been one of those jobs

How'd ya go with your tank mate? I've got the same problem with one I have. Little worried abot welding it though!! Someone else put me on to that weld in a tube stuff but not sure how long it will last or weather the fuel will react to it in any way? Interested to see how you went mate,

I have temp repair on the tank at the moment,if I cant find a new tank I will remove the tank solder it, and then seal with KBS tank sealer.

I have welded a number of tanks in the past, (both oxy & MIG) I just flused and then filled them with water first, to many stories of things going wrong trying to purge them.

Got the 65 mm lowering springs from Pedders today will fit next week (young fella 18 tommorrow) they were cheap under $200 for thye pair.

Engineer around on Monday to look over the wagon, lot of work to do.

Used quick steel/knead it on a repair to the tank in my LX SS Hatchback about 12 years ago and is still as good as the day I applied it
Alot easier than welding..............but it all depends on the size of the repair and the condition of the rest of the tank.

I'd certainly use the stuff again for a long term repair.

Lowering springs have arrived, (work tomorrow ) will fit on wed, got some 2" blocks for the rear.

Engineer came today, very happy with the wagon, had a good discussion on collapsible column also.

To bloody cold to work in the shed at night, must be getting old.

Hey all
Put the lowering springs in today (65mm Pedders), ride height is OK, still a bit high will see where it settles out after a long run. The 14’s sure dropped the revs.
May leave the rake for an old school look, or lower the rear I have some 50 mm (2 inch for us old blokes) lowering blocks in the shed.
Very tempted to run the spray gun over the old girl, may loose its character though.
