So this weekend after putting it off for ages I decided to get in and make up a new timber tray. Damo's old tongue and groove flooring just wasnt doing it for me and I wanted something where I could strap the bikes down. The other requirement was I wanted the whole thing flush so I could still easily slide things into the tray when required.

I bought some spring loaded tie down points from a truck supply mob, which look pretty good and feel nice and strong. I also bought some 12mm ply for the tray. Did a lot of measuring and eye balling and mocking up with various bikes to work out where I wanted the tie down points for easy bike carrying and to also make sure they didnt interfere with the bearers of the tray floor. Marked out the positions, used a hole saw to cut out the centre sections, and hand chisseled the outer area so the flange would be flush to the tray. Repeat x 6  Still needs some minor finishing and a coat of varnish, but its almost there  Unfortunately I also found some nasty bits of rust in the lower floor, so I'll sort them out before I permanently attach the tray
