Hey all

Quick update, got the Grey Motor out today, have a gasket set so might rebuild it (not sure why) It was a good runner blew a bit of smoke.
Anyway front end is out hopefully inner guards & Sub Frame to the blasters early next week (Saints playing AGAIN !!!) over the weekend so that will slow things a tad.
Will weld up all the unwanted holes in the fire wall and inner guards and cut in the header holes.
Took time out for a much needed shed clean up (tripping over Sh@#t on the floor).
Cheers

Got some shed time today, inner guards off, found a bit of rust on the fire wall behind the inner guards.
K frame is off to the blasters in the morning, will fit the chassis kit when I get the it back. I am on the hunt for a small block so as I can fit the headers & cut the inner guards if anyone in WA has a contact.
Ground all the brackets off the Skyline, (there were a lot) diff will install over the next few days
Found a nifty little under dash wiper motor so the engine bay will be just motor

Hi all

Thanks for the comments Lads. (Gasman sent you a PM)

Got the K Frame back from the blasters today, a little bit of rust that I hadn’t seen noticed before so a worthwhile exercise.
While I had it on the ute I got an alloy radiator measured up, bit of cutting to get it in but nothing to big.
Hopefully the front end rubbers arrive this week so I can get stuck into the cross member.
Still not decided whether to use acyclic or 2 pack, two coats verses 8 sounds to easy but I have nvere used two pack. Used an epoxy etch primer on the K frame went on very easy. Bunning’s have some great looking party gazebos that will make a great spray booth in the shed all that is needed is some extraction.

Keep you posted

Hi all
Got the Skyline diff in today, apart from cleaning up all the original brackets the install was quite simple, the EK diff brackets came off very easy as they are only spotted on. Still some alignment work to be done as the car is defiantly not square. There is a 20mm difference to the sub frame on each side.
The wagon looks very high at the moment with the 14’s on it.

Removed the mouldings to find some more rust, thanks to the great post and work by Lui & Stew (parisian62 Rebuilding of old timer) I will drill the spot welds on the gutters and attack the rust.
Welded up all the unwanted holes in the firewall and repaired the rust around the front window.

Soda blaster came & had a look last Friday the wagon will go off in two weeks so will no doubt find som more repairs on return.

Cheers
