Morning folk
Without getting into a "bun fight", can I just put my side re changing way paying memberships. As you all know by now that we live in Mount Gambier with a population of 28,000 so we are in the lucky position that our holden car club's majority of members are able to, and do get to meetings. When you have a state club such as the fb/ek club, unless you have a treasurer who is very long term, it is very hard to change the details every time the position changes at an AGM. (This rigaromole has to be done regardless of internet banking etc in a club situation) Trust me our club has just changed banks here and the huges amounts of paperwork etc and quite a few trips to the bank to put this in place would be an absolute headache in a place the size of Melbourne where members have to travel a long time let alone km's to get to the banking point.
An application for membership form can be downloaded off the internet or I am sure the secretary would email you one.
You are not alone in your time constraints and most of us have to fit around this.
A business/banking is a completely different story!
cheers
Lesley
ps we have a very big club here, veteran and vintage, who have a group of &*#@ drivers who belong to that club, just go for drives. Their communication to each other is via email or phone call!!
our next night out

Sorry to be a pest but it makes no difference as to who the treasurer is or how many times you change , the banking and statement system remains the same, its just a change of name and possibly postal address, but most organisations whether they be volunteer or not will generally have a Po box for all correspondance, as i said earlier having been and still invoveld in a volunteer organisation for well in excess of 30 years that rely heavily on sponsor ship & member ship to be able to run every year and pay council fes utility fees refreshments and apparrel and a hell of a lot more have been made life so much easier with flexible banking metthods of today, itemised statements, completed expendure readouts for the credits and debits any person willing to take the role on finds it accomodating, no more checking hand writtten receipts computer generated receipt or remmittance advice , no hand written ledgers, audits become easier for Incorporation fees and accounting. Knowing exactly where the money is or has gone making no more have to carry large amounts of cash and cheques and the fear of losing them or having it stolen, I really dont need to explain the benefits all i was asking was for some flexibility to suit as some of us do not have a lot of time on our hands, to be ignorant and say go to a post office when you purchase petrol or do grocery shopping well!!! i do my grocery shopping of an evening i fill up of an evening as i am able to use the corporate sector that uses late nite and seven day a week trading hours which maybe a national interest like Aust post may consider for all the people who dont work the old 9-5 weekday and weekends off
