Seems to me one bolt is too short and the other too long, though a spring washer would remedy the longer one, adding 2mm for the backing plate and bracket.ImageImage

Yep. The short bolt's too short. The long bolt's OK for the backing plate and brake hose bracket though. Most likely the correct length is an odd multiple of 1/8" long, and most suppliers won't have it.

You need an ACME bolt shortening kit - AKA hand held milling machine .........

You have flair Clay😀. Sorry.

Callipers are pretty subdued🤣. We will be able to pick your ute out anywhere now.

One of the images that sticks in my head is the Bathurst 12-hour, watching the cars stream down the Mountain with disc brakes glowing. With the Sampsons on, you’d get that kinda glow from the calipers standing still 😀.

I reckon they look good though - I painted the calipers in the wagon, even though no one will see them. You only cross the line if you put Brembo decals on them.

Cheers,
Harv

Shocks were jealous so had to reshoot.

These things are so fiddly, I don't enjoy mucking around drum brakes or these HR calipers either. I use my first s pipe as a template. One of the hubs had been running without an inside seal since last overhaul so had to raid one from the old hubs. Used the races az well. Driver side is now done bar running over with torque wrench, grease gun and bleed of course.ImageImageImage

Looks good.

Every time I bend tube, I cut it too short.

Then leave the flare nut off before flaring.

Then bend the “wrong way” (180 degrees out).

Reckon you’ve done well with the S’s.

Cheers,
Harv
