Well nothing to fancy but... but mounted up the fuse panel on the firewall above the tunnel. just need to build a cover for it and it should suit the way im building this.

easily accessible and theres not a lot of room under that dash when you add in some a/c

wire will run through the inner guards and come out the original spot that the headlght wires went in or somewhere else but i'll figure that out when i actually wire it up. but another thing off the list!

FIRST I meen no offence and it's just a general question but this is a good place to put it and it's not just you but in general

i'm bored to death with my cars when I don't get much done in a week or 2, i already want to sell the FB but not giving it away and the Austin would be gone if it wasn't for the missus putting her foot down, how do you keep going on something like this without just throwing the hands up in the air and just saying f#%k it, the thread was started in 2006 so i'm assuming the project was going earlier than that

maybe I just have ADD

no offense taken i can answer that... I bought the car in 05, so been going on almost 8 years, could you tell god no the amount of work thats been done in that time some people on here pump out in a few months, is the work any form of show quality or anything nope, does that bother me nope... it will be my daily when im finished, chances are when im done the car will be painted with a satin finish on the body and most people will look at me like im mad because they know how long ive been building this for and how much effort i've put in and they just wont understand (as we all know)... at the start i knew pretty much nothing and what i thought i knew was wrong. but here's why i'm in my 20's (almost 28 now) i've always had a car to get around in most of the time an old holden of sorts... and i havent let this stop me from doing anything in life in general... holidays, girls, pub... i'll go months without touching it when you have those moments where nothings going right on it or you just cant be bothered... it's only recently i've decided to get a major push on it, the cars just been there as a project and now im pissing off to europe for a month... just becasue... but plan when i get back to get it to paint, hopefully before the end of the year but if it doesnt happen it doesnt happen. The rest is i've been building it with my father, he's been teaching me tricks of old (lead wiping and stuff) and general just having a laugh and beer with him with both think of each other as the others TA, he started out been a period original man, and hating any ideas i had no he wonders how i come he never thought of them back in the day and whens it finished, then i plan on buying him an EH (his favourite) and starting it all again, time frame who cares... only building it for myself.

Hell. My wagons been on registration exemption for 25 years, but I manage to do work or buy parts for it nearly every week. One advantage I have found is that you tend to accumulate a lot of nos parts. Regards Daz.

I'm the same, i've had mine for 10 years now. I found it hard to let it leave the garage to get work done on the body recently. Collecting parts for a while now, the money i've spent you'd think i'd have them all but still need the diff shortened and now ac looks good :erm: i want it started by christmas, but that what i say every year :smile22:

So with the car club up and running its giving me a bit of a push at the moment to try and get some car work done.... so on that note I decided to continue on the false floor for the boot... my wood working skills are nothing special at all... so after welding in a bunch of angle brackets all around the place for somewhere to bolt to, i have ended up with something like this.

its all going to be cover in marine carpet or something basic that should help it be just neat and tidy.

Image

still need to cut a section out for the wheel, the side spots act as pockets for anything i need to stash haha and also gain access to a few bolt down points.

Image

Image

and with my potential tool box, spares box, jack box etc... and old 105mm Howitzer ammo crate that will be strapped down so its removable

Image

still needs a bit of work and trimming down before it gets carpeted but that probably wont be for a while

next is to make a fuel pipe and see if anything needs to be modified there and a center wheel section.

also need to put some supports underneath a few sections, to help handle any weight that might be loaded in there like esky's
