that is a fast fill reservoir Roger, its expecting twin piston calipers on the other end of it.

The PBR VH151 vacuum brake booster (sourced from a Holden TC-TE Gemini) bolts up to the dual circuit master cylinder sourced from a &*#@ Falcon XA/XB/XC (PBR part number P6258a). The master cylinder pushrod needs extension by about 1.5mm to provide appropriate booster pre-load.

The VH151 vacuum brake booster is of very small volume (1.4L). If the engine’s vacuum is low (mine was 13”Hg at idle), the resultant vacuum power is very low, causing hard brake pedal after few brake applications. A vacuum tank and/or electric pump may be required.

I keep saying this. Gledge successfully runs unboosted landcruiser disc brakes in Leon, his fb sedan. I imagine it doesn’t have huge manifold vacuum at idle. It’s a bit of a strip beast by all accounts.

back on the ute again after spending time rebuilding a 3 bike trailer.
Broken axle replaced with new wiring / lights and a quick paint job.

Welded in the sump plug and started on stripping the motor for paint. Beware on the kickback with using these plastic disc's Just need some cool weather so I can wear long sleeves and hope Anne-Marie does not ask why.

Ouch. You jagged it! Paint motor? Paint car!

Oooh…… that looks sore! Thanks for the tip, will remember that when I get those discs out.

Should have had 2 hands on the grinder and paying more attention the edges. These disc work great cleaning off paint etc and now flesh.

Still have area's on the body that need better / smoother surface before painting the ute.
You know how it is fill - sand - fill - sand - walk away and repeat the process again.

Long time since I posted any progress on Ammo's ute.
Engine and auto are now painted and ready to go in.

I think I have finished filling and sanding but time will tell once colour hits it. Masked up where do not want primer / filler. Used clips to ho;d plastic over headliner. This is the next step then sand again hopefully for the last time. Cheers,

Good weather today so jumped in to get the primer / filler on.
Started on the ute body first and was going OK until the spray gun only wanted to push out air and filler. Buggered around this it for a while but no luck fixing it so grabbed my other gun.
It has been a long time since this ute was in one colour and looked like I would only have to do a light wet sand. Ran around hanging doors, set up the guards and bonnet, grabbed the clothes line for visor and front vent panel. On inspection after cleaning up the spray guns, OMG
What looked good now looks shite with primer on. Lots of pin holes, sanding marks and low spots on the guards.

So back to filling and sanding.
I did learn that spraying left handed is better - more steady that my right. Think I may need to change hands more often.

Amazing what a bit of paint shows up. Wonder what the problem with the gun was. It’s not drying before it hits the panel? More thinners.

Found the issue with the spray gun and only myself to blame.
I did not clean out the pickup tube as good as I should have. A small amount of dried paint was stopping the flow.

I have been rubbing the filler and still finding little imperfection that require a touch of bog. It looks so much quicker on the TV.

This morning I pickup a XB fuel tank for $100 and it includes the sender.
These are available at Rares for $700 repo but I'm a tight arse. A bit of clean up, either wire wheel or I may blast it.
A quick measure of the opening in the ute and I'm back into fabrication again. Cheers,

I purchased a "hood ornament" from the US back on the 27th March and it arrived today.
I was very impressed with only a 3 week transit time. Expecting of it arrive broken or bent but happy to report it was packaged very well.
3 padded bags and 2 cardboard boxes.
I'm removing the "bird "and replacing it with the Flying Lady.
.
.
. It will be off to A Class Electro plating for repairs to remove the pitting and then a re-chrome.
Any guesses of what it is off ??????
