I hear you malcolm,my car got pushed to the back of the shed many times during the build due to a bit of stress and budget blowouts. If its not fun it becomes a chore. Will look forward to some progress pics when you get back into it.ENJOY.

Definately one thing I have learned, to walk away...

If things aren't working out or its going horribly pear shaped I walked away and came back to it the next day. Lets face it you need to be in the right frame of mind otherwise nothing you do will work. Plus it should be fun and not a chore.

Just about had enough and going to resort to my original colour choice.
Nothing much else happening with the car at the moment as I have the shits with it and need a break.
Go with the picture thats in your head mate, if that picture is a red colour go for it :) , have no regrets here having a red Ek. Just that sometimes it turns an orangish colour in full light.

Hardest part with red is choosing an interior colour to match. Im going tan in mine but it was light grey/dark grey combo.

Heres my unusual tactics for combatting the dreaded leprachauns.
Have another car on the go that you can work on untill you feel better ,this way there are no time constraints but you are still making headway .
Always have a list so you can move to another thing ,and you can choose an easy or hard job , feels good when you cross off jobs.
Dont walk away completely , spend 20 mins a day as a ritual working on it , I buy those cars people walk away from - cheap.

And dont ask opinions

Ummmm, shoot someone. :D That could work, then I would have plenty of time to ponder on a colour.
I do like the list idea though. Might do one up tonight and work on the car tomorrow.
Sorry R/B & smooth, cars going to be red, same as me old ute. Just need to decide on an interior colour now.

Is Kingaroy a big place Malcom , I just wondered if you may know someone I knew once ?
Ill give you the run down , I was living in a van park in Cairns at Lake placid and a neighbour who was into XD shape LTDs at the time was from kingaroy , It was a deep red with pro stars and black windows .
He was a weedy dude with gingerish hair and glasses ,I spose he would be 40 by now .
Way too many bourbons in between now and then so Im not sure of even his first name.

Harko, Kingaroy has about 15000 people and I think you just described half of them both male and female :? Can't say I've seen a car like that. Even out here there into rice burners and plastic jap crap.
Tim I like cars with white interiors but out here with this stinkin red dirt everywhere it wouldn't last a week.
The missus is likin dark grey cloth with some sort of red fleck through it and with red stitching. :?
Busy making my list.

8) Mal,
Looking good, I am not one to do colours or anything but,,,,
Now if you are going red, I have a VY Lumina in Shanghai Red, it looks slightly different at different times of day and is very nice, sometimes a bronzy/orange colour.
See if you can find one.
Keep up the good work.
Dan

Hey guys just a quick update, have still been doing little stuff
that takes time to do and dosen't look as though you've
done anything.

Finally finished off the exhaust after having to cut the corners off
the front of the fuel tank for the 3inch pipes to go past. It turned
out to be a very tight squeeze. I went with the mandrel bends
to make the tailpipes which made things a lot easier than trying
to get pipes bent to go around things.

Still have to fit the seat belts yet, and will post pickies of them
when done.
Started tinkering around with body work now, so that will keep me occupied for a while.

Have now started pulling it all apart to get into the body work
side of things.

Cheers
