Likewise, Lesley - I've tried looking for a way to block this sender.. but so far, no dice.....

Pretty well blasted warm here... so, inside all arvo sitting at this box..... roll on Cowra - ice, snow and all..... I'm not a "summer" person.

Cheers all, yes cables will be run once fuel tank is fitted, and will fabricate a battery box, will do my best to hide it,

This will be the colour, this was my first wagon, so my wagon will be done the same, lurcene blue and alpine blue I'm pretty sure

Brett, seriously - acrylic.
If you want the plate finish - providing you get your panels right and fill every void - the dark blue will come up like a mirror... you can do this with acrylic.... you would struggle to achieve the same result of the gun with 2k.... and that blasted stuff is just so hard to grind down to get all the flutter out.....

Can't wait to see this great "sleeper" wagon with just hint of a V8 note - catch a lot of people out if it comes up like your erstwhile one....

Do I detect a Qld rego plate ..... here...?

Rosco

I'm always gladdened to see people paying attention to fixing the problem rather than patching it up.... these areas will never give you issue again, Brett.... well done.

It's a lot easier to attack these areas now before they come back to life when paint builds have been added..
Keep going, if it gives even the slightest impression that it's not sound - dig it out and make it new again..

A MIG will "find" all the dodgy areas - using brass or copper backing plates behind any needed builds or stitches will hold the weld in position until it solidifies..

Don't forget to apply some welder's etch (contains zinc) to electrically bond the old with the new metal....

Rosco

I bet it does jay! Hope mine starts looking like yours real soon, yeah rosco was brought up with the saying "if your going to do something, do it right" taking longer than hoped for but more effort means a better finished product ( hopefully lol)
Am orginising springs and shocks tomorrow so I can finish the front end ready to stick on when the cars ready for it! Slowly slowly lol

You won't regret doing this now Brett! I only have two sections to redo on mine as we chose not to cut out the little rust that was there, you on the other hand won't have anything to worry about. I notice Ash has added something the factory should have. He did that on mine too.
