I’m surprisingly philosophical about this. Might teach me not to dick around with shit. Shouldn’t have been sitting on there to fall off, and I weakened it putting a slight bow in it to make it sit against the panel better.

Moving on, guards are ready for a quick rub with 600 and some colour. Weather is perfect. Ideally I should work on the bonnet and let the guards cure overnight but I’m itching to finish them in this nice weather.

These guards have had more work than any other panel excepting the body. So it's good to finally get some finish on them. Four coats I hope will be enough. I can see a few little blemishes I've missed. Well I'm just practicing after all.ImageImageImage

Some peel but no bones. Just the bonnet now.

This old 6.50-13 tubeless 4 ply Firestone Deluxe Champion (phew) is a friction fit at 175mm. The maxiss are slightly narrower so I'll use one as a spare when I put some fats on it. Oops, did I say that?Image

Thanks for the kind words Brett.

6.40-13 was standard. 6.5 won't fit!ImageImage
