Dinner with the Crupi tribe at the pub we were staying at then on Friday morning I went around to Sam’s to do a bit of maintenance, the ute was down on power yesterday and running a bit shit so we did a bit of digging including a rocker set and checked the plug leads etc chasing the miss - found the centre pin on the dizzy cap had broken the spring so it was bouncing off the rotor button - ran around Shep looking for a replacement ended up having to buy a second hand one as no new ones were available

Friday arvo we stuck the ute on the hoist and have it the Crupi rear guard clearance treatment ready for some bigger rubber
Checked out Joes ute- freshly finished and licenced 2 weeks ago - super tidy under the bonnet but I forgot to get a pic

Got up Saturday morning, said our goodbyes to both Crupi families and got on the road heading to Bendigo to catch up with some friends who had moved from Perth to Bendigo- got 30km out of Shep and the gearbox let go - lost top gear entirely and first, second, reverse and neutral were all second gear….. a slow trip back to Shep - by the time we got there Jeremy had cleared his shed out, Sam had a spare box in his ute and met us around there , Joe and Riley were there ready to lend a hand and the job was on

Sam did an autopsy on the old box and found this - the selection shaft had failed and once it finally let go there was no way to get top gear - a good one next to the buggered one for reference
