Reused original Patrick. Others have got coach head in stainless and buffed up. I was lucky and saved a couple from between this car, my van and Stephen and I ratted a rusty old Ute over our way.

Hey Patrick
I just used couple hex head bolts (painted heads black) and some black rubber door stops from Bunnings. The door stops come in different sizes. The ones in this pic are probably a bit too big, one day I'll fit the next size down that have been in the glove box for 2+ yeas

Then we will see what sot of issues I have with mechanicals Neil.

Reassembled column, electricals tested (0.8 ohms all circuits) and painted indicator ring and lever with the good ol’ suprcheap elcheapo gloss black enamel rattle can. Can in a bucket of hot water for ten minutes and warm up the work with the heat gun.

Minimal singeing of paint. Welding skill has gone down since I started on the body work. 32 grit disc will tidy it and I'll turn it up on the other side. Found that the seatbelt threads in the floor are great as an earth now with a bolt tensioned up in the thread.

Paint flows best warm and will harden quicker. Won't bed any moisture on the ppanel as gun gets it hot.

Speaking of aerosol paint, was under the car painting with an old can of matte black after mastic seam sealed around the anchor plates. Stem on the can decided to start venting around the outside and paint started dribbling everywhere. All I could do was put it out in the carport with a rag over it and let it go.

Belt anchor installation is complete. I took plenty of shots in case it ever gets queried. I managed the matte black down the sides before the can vented. Thanks to Harv for confirming my thoughts on this. Want it to disappear like behind the grille for the resto theme.
