Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
Hi Clay, there's a 'serviceable' spare wheel door on Gumtree - only 2 photos. Patrick

Hi Clay
Spare wheel door looks ok. Reasonable ones are few and far between. Ute is looking tops by the way
Regards
Stephen

Yes been looking at that Patrick. They’ve all got rust and that’s a bit rich for me. It’s funny how I won’t balk at spending $300 at the paint shop but still stingy when it comes to gumtree. Just bought a running HQ trimatic box for $100 on there after looking for months.
Thanks Stephen. Yes the door looks fine. I put the seal in place and closed it using two blocks of wood and g clamp, tightening till I heard the latch click. I may never open it again, it was that tight. Amazing how many little dip shit things there are to do now the paint is on the shell.

Mine was very good but after blasting had more holes than an alien hooker - grind weld - grind weld grind weld - fill sand fill sand - was the single most time consuming panel on the ute but worth it

Hi Clay
Your bumperettes look tidy, were they just a good pair you managed to find? With the rubber dirt deflectors did you just make your own? How are they attached to the body? Got plans to spend the long weekend working on the ute?

Must do some gardening Stephen but yeah why not. Thanks go to Roger for the bumperettes. The rubbers I got from Maco on the FE FC forum some time ago to go on the van. I was going to re-use the originals but no. Passenger side went on nice but the driver side wants to stick out at the front.

Re: Clay’s Wedgewood Blue FB Ute
You can go two ways for the splash rubbers - either get the ones from fe fc guys and trim down a little - Harv has done this so may have a pic of what needs trimming or buy the correct ones from Better auto rubbers which fit very nicely

The seals around the light garnishes are bugging me and mat try flipping the garnishes side to side.
Emerging restorer in me is horrified at perforating wedgie's pristine floor pan. I can really understand why some won't fit belts.
Decided I don't need to weld through primer seeing plates are zinc passivated. I'll paint the tack welds.
