Thanks fellers. Rob it got to 18C here today with 55% humidity so conditions were fine with plenty of thinners. I’m up at Port Augusta on the weekend for work but Monday looks promising to do the clinker grey. That will put me on track to get everything ready for the head lining, although I need to chase Alex at seatbelt solutions.

Well done Clay.
I'm very envious that you now have colour on the ute. I have not even settled on a colour yet.

All the body work has paid off with a very smooth finish.

Roger.

Still got to finish this one Greg. Won’t burn me out. The family maybe.

I’ve tried to keep it simple Roger which has made it comparatively easy.

Looks great Clay,
You should be very happy with the results to date given your many hours of repairs and prep work. Lots of inspiration for others here who are following your progress.

Regards
Stephen

Thanks Stephen. Hopefully it comes up with a rub and buff. Just one slight run over one of the tail lights.

Smoooooooth 8) Well done sir.

You took the fun out the windscreen install though by leaving the mould screws in the holes. Now you'll have nice, clean holes to work with. You're supposed to leave the screws out, then fill the holes with a mixture of rust, old windscreen sealant and new paint. Makes it a lot more fun to find the holes through the moulding then. Left a little, right a little, up, down.....

Cheers,
Harv

Thanks Harv. I’m sure I’ll find some other source of drama when that job comes up.

Beautiful Clay - super achievement to do all that yourself - wish I had the time and skill to do mine like that - well done - power home now and get all paint done while the weather is half decent

You’ll find me lost somewhere!

Thanks Rob,
More about time than skill I think mate. Yeh nah I’ve pushed ahead on the shell and won’t be getting the rest done in a big hurry. Plenty to focus on over winter, wiring, trim and mechanicals.
Cheers
Clay

Cheers neil,
Acrylic is pretty forgiving mate. Now I’ve done it though the amount I’ve spent at the paint shop I’m wondering if it would have been any dearer go farm it out. But yes, you can’t buy that sense of achievement.

Goodonya’ Clay, this “quick little clean up and get it rego’d” is going great. Well done for having the balls to have a go at the paint - as you say, you could’ve farmed it out which would’ve been easier but where’s the fun in that?

Cheers, John
